There was one bit where the bitch in Buncey came out. He was digging clearly, just trying desperately to out alpha the alpha and when he finished Dempsey paused, looked him up and down and passed it on to Ronald.
The guy is a modern day renaissance man. He studied literature at Cambridge, played semi-pro football in Ireland, had a serious media career reporting news for the BBC, ITN and Channel 4. Now moved into sports where he shows a maverick disregard for evolving hair fashions and out Alphas Cockney rogue Steve Bunce. Legend.
He really does give buncey some shit.several subtle digs last night left me equally feeling sorry for Steve and having a laugh at the audacity of it.
After bunce giving one of his typical hyperbole statements,Dempsey says quietly 'now then Steve,we don't do overselling on this channel' and then adds 'this belt is a load of rubbish isn't it?'
Great to see a presenter who genuinely knows his stuff and isn't afraid to go against the company grain, there are depressingly few of them left in the sport.
Bunce looked as though he was about to throttle him at one point last night
I thought he was a cock unnecessarily to be honest, amongst some good bits.
Interim belts serve a purpose. Enough people have moaned about BJS holding the belt ransom to prove that to be true.
Now, because of the interim we have BJS in a fight people are looking forward to.
Buncey was doing a good job of explaining the situation to the less knowledgeable. if he wanted to have a pop wait until speaking about the WBA regular or some shit.
''working with that clown again tonight me old mucker, gutted is an understatement. What i wouldn't do to hit him square on the chin like a prime Mike Tyson fresh out of the Brownsville projects. ''
Lillis ''That's right Steve. Can't believe they've binned off Barry from commentary. To make it worse i didn't even get a look in''.
Buncey ''You ain't wrong me old boy you ain't wrong. Telling you now he i ain't in the mood for his crap tonight i might just do what i do best Stevey boy. Rant!!''.
Comes 7.30 Dempsey looks straight into his eyes and Steve remembers who his true daddy is.

Well Richie has basically trained every fighter to ever lace a glove. Told Langford to concentrate, he didn't. Between me you if he was with Richie that never would've happened.....
Outstanding stuff again from the G and you can tell Buncey fucking hates it at times but has to hold back but he would just get bounced pillar to post if Dempsey got serious.
His sly wee digs and looks at times are ATG levels and after way too many years of being fed shite from party line toeing tards hes hopefully here to stay. Not many like him in commentating any sport now and would be gutted if he lost his slot.

Yeah agreed - Was good that Dempsey went round the pundits for a view on AJ/Wlad, and wished him their respective luck. SKY wouldn't do that.
That said, the new commentator on SKY seems decent. Touches on the reality of the business, without getting too complicated
