Gumby, I'm still enraged, yet the team I'm partial to WON the title again. Brees does not screw up like Goff on his throws, does not get pounded like that. If the NFC Championship was indeed a fix by officials, I hope Goodell and the NFL office chokes to death on it.Well, that game went just abut like I thought, but I did figure N.E. would have scored more points against the hapless Rams.
The biggest disappointment, beside the fact the Saints should have been there, was that last field goal the Rams attempted and missed. If they would have hit that and then attempted an on-side kick with the game ending shortly thereafter, I would have won $250 on a football pool. I had squares on 2 different pools with my numbers being in this order, AFC--NFC 7-7, 6-3, 3-6, 5-4 .
Just one more reason to hate the Rams now, and I can't wait for the next time the Saints line up against them in a game. It's going to get ugly.
New Orleans should have been playing yesterday. It should have been two first ballot HOF QBs squaring off for SB LIII.
Your team would have made this thing epic to promote and play. Saints leadership, Payton and Brees, would have known how to not run out of steam at the end of a 19 game season. Instead, the Patriots produced their widest margin of victory in any of their six SB wins. For the second year in a row, lack of experience cost the Rams in the playoffs, something which should NEVER happen! After the Eagles used lack of experience to generate title winning abandon, that failure by the Rams is not excusable.
That was NOT the NFC's best team playing yesterday, and we all know it. I hope the Saints are super pissed and super focused next year. After the way their last two seasons ended, enough is enough! (Too much, in fact.)
