Belfast, Ireland
Did also post this on the "other site", but there are some good posters left here too (especially my man @DomB)

Thread to discuss what music you have heard this year so far, what gigs you have coming up and whatnot.

I am going to see White Denim on the 9th Feb (tickets just arrived actually). In terms of music the first album I have heard this that I have loved is this:

Really great blue-eyed soul from Iceland (of all places). Will get a lot of play from me this summer I would imagine.

Hey dude thought you'd left so didn't bother starting the thread this year.

Haven't found much anyway yet this year though.

Going to see Steve Mason on Saturday but tbh his new album doesn't do much for me.

White Denim supposed to be ace live

some cool announcements for me today....

been desperate for these to come over here...

Gonna book Hackney up tomorrow, bit shit there's nothing nearer to me but can't miss em.

Also, was planning on giving my usual festival a miss this year but been waiting for Spiritualized to play there for 10 years and they're headlining the opening night so gonna have to head back again...only the first batch of bands announced but already shit loads of stuff I'm interested in and doubtless loads to discover on the undercard...

Currently listening to this album (Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridges), really good so far:

Yup it's a good album. T'aint quite Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris but it did make me think of em a couple of times, which is never a bad thing... particularly on 'Chesapeake'.

first full album of the year that's really been getting repeated listens from me...

Sharon Van Etten - Remind Me Tomorrow

It ain't gonna change the world, and I'm a little surprised to see it getting best new album on Pitchfork and hovering around the top 5 on RYM, but it is a pretty sweet listen. Does lack a killer tune really though....lots of very pleasant synth poppy stuff but nothing to quite elevate it.

This is a really nice album...bookish folky ballads....reflections on life...calm and collected.

WH Lung finally dropping their debut album, only taken em two years. Just pre-ordered it, single sounds decent..

Bit of a quiet year for albums so far... Been listening to the Bill Ryder Jones one quite a lot... Very solid album. Not much else grabbed me yet.

Saw Sharon van etten last week at the Albert Hall... was OK, a little tame.

Got an epic run of gigs coming up... Amyl and the sniffers, Tropical fuck storm, black midi, black country new road all in the next few months... Sweeeeet.
