Du blonde album is a real grower... You could do a lot worse than give it a spin In this sunshine... I'm getting a real lou Reed vibe from it for some inexplicable reason.

This is another really decent summer album...

Nilufer yanya _ miss universe

Not my normal genre tbh... Although I'm not even sure what genre it is really... Seems to hop between soul, pop, r n b and electronica ...anyway its just chock full of foot tappers... She's got a beautiful voice and some ace melodys.

@Pedderrs id imagine you'd like this

Caveat: the songs ere interspersed with some rather daft announcement gimmicks about a fictional futuristic wellness clinic... It must have seemed a good idea at the time but nahhhh. Anyway, minor quibble easily ignored.

Fontaines DC album is solid, especially for any fans of the Fall and/or Pavement and early Smiths (The track Television Screens sound like in should be on Hatful of Hollow or their 1st album). Going to see them live in November- should be good (liking their performance on KEXP at the moment- on youtube. well worth a look for any fans).

Next gig- Stereolab in Leeds.

The vocal on television screens is uncannily morrisseyesque.

Enjoy stereolab :good

Saw two of the hottest British bands on the scene last night at Sounds of the other city.. Both of em fucking awesome...

Black Country, New Road... Such an interesting band can't wait for the album...

Black Midi... Ear shatteringly awesome and cool as fuck to boot...

The Mountain Goats - In League With Dragons

Really liking this album....the usual explorations and exultations of humanity you'd expect on a Mountain Goats lp....but more musically nuanced than the early stuff...quite polished in fact at times. Just a lovely general mood, this track in particular is a cracker...

Also caught a brief but sublime set from Withered Hand... Bit gutted he didn't play "love in the time of ecstacy" but was still ace to see him... drew a pretty poor crowd actually, there's no accounting for taste... Anyway I managed to get the back of me head on an Instagram shot... I'm the lanky streak of piss with the fade front right...

I was getting a bit irate at one point cos he seemed to be eyeing up my missus stood next to me... Turned out there was an acid crazed old hippy chick throwing mad shapes stood behind her

Finally got to see Tropical Fuck Storm tonight at dingwalls in Camden... Blew the fackin roof off :happy proper sweaty musical celebration...

Bought Mr Liddiard a pint at the bar beforehand and managed a quick rattle... proper nice bloke.

Also picked up a rather natty poster from the merch stand...

Happy fucking days... Searching for something to rival me recent run of gigs now...

Going to see Amyl tomorrow for the second time this year, then going to carry on with a great series of stoner rock gigs, having seen Earthless and 1000Mods all ready, next will be Bongzilla, then Wo Fat.

Would love to claim it was the fit guitarists foot but that would be stretching the truth a little

Enjoy amyl mate.
yeah, i was pleasantly surpised by the guitarist when i saw them. She was great. you don't get to see that many genuinely good (attention grabbing) female guitarists (no sexist).

I love that sexy slightly smacky look tbh, (full sexist)

She's a pretty mean guitarist too.

Was a great gig, mad energy

BTW, probably not everyone's cup of tea, but saw Earthless twice this year. the Maxx Watts gig they did has gone straight into my top ten gigs of all time list. mind was blown.. genuine onslaught of the senses. my jaw was metaphorically on the floor for most of the gig.

they are fond of the extended instrumental, so if you ever have a spare 20 mins:
