parsnips are one of the worst things on earth.

but most of the edible vegetables are nice.
Parsnips just need more care. Cut them in half and then put them under a chicken for roasting. So they act like a table for the chicken, fat will run off and soak into them and they will caramelise at the ends too.

Aubergine has to be cooked properly for me to eat it. Often it can be a mushy mess with revolting texture but done right it's nice.

Aye, technically also a fruit etc.

Oh yeah man veggie soups are delightful. And I also utilize heavy whipping cream for the finishing kick, my wife loves creamy veggie soups. I'm very curious about this creamy shrimp soup though, I imagine it's like a clam chowder but sweeter and more savory.

Here's my recipe for the shrimp soup I make.

1 stick of real butter---1/4 lb.
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 quarts shrimp stock
8 oz. whole milk
1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
2 tbsp. soy sauce

The following vegetables cut in a small dice---1/2 inch x 1/2 inch
1 large onion
2 ribs celery
1 bell pepper
1 yellow squash
1 zucchini squash
2 carrots
2 tbsp. fresh ginger grated
3 cloves garlic minced
6 mushrooms sliced thin
About 1 dozen sugar snap peas sliced on the diagonal
2 lbs. fresh shrimp, if large shrimp, cut in half
Optional---6 oz. Vermicelli My wife likes it in her soup but it's ok not to use it.

In a large enough sauce pan, melt butter, add the flour and make a blond roux. Then add the shrimp stock and milk to the roux and bring to a low boil. Now add all the vegetables and other ingredients and let this cook until the vegetables are fork tender. Add the shrimp and cook just until they are done---don't overcook the shrimp. If you decide to add the Vermicelli, do so after you turn off the fire and they will cook in the residual heat. Just make sure to stir it to keep the pasta from sticking. If the soup is too thick for your liking, you can always add a bit more of stock or milk. If thinner than you prefer, you can always thicken it with a bit of cornstarch and water mixture.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Not making any excuses but some people cant eat vegetables or salad and fruit for medical reasons. My Mrs if she eats vegetables she is fooked big time. She has Chrohns disease. She would love nothing more to have vegetables and fruit but can't.

If she did she would have to go on steroids and immunosuppressants. As she would have big flare.

She is very quiet so people think fussy eater

When we go on holiday or out for a meals she used to get dirty looks and comments. I used to kick off which made it worse but now let her deal with it.

Only 2 vegetables dont like is cauliflower and sprouts. Im a bit weird with fruit I love every fruit but im a bit of fruit connoisseur. Like pineapple we buy from Tesco Waitrose is shite. If you go on holiday to Jamaica or any other Caribbean island the difference is mind blowing. Same with lemons oranges grapes and apples.

That is totally different to be fair, your missus has a proper disease that needs controlling through diet, that's not her saying "I don't like them". I am surprised she cannot eat any vegetables though, but then again I don't know a ton about Crohn's, but I had thought it was similar to other inflammatory conditions like colitis where you avoided certain things and different people had different trigger foods, but it's surprising to hear all veg is off.

That's fucking hard to deal with, as I know lots of things like dairy are out too.

I love avocados too, but am partial to the Haas variety. There is a much larger smooth skin variety that I find to be mostly a big green bland thing with little avocado taste. I use the Haas variety to make my homemade guacamole and when I do, it doesn't last long.

Consider those big avos as diet avocados. There's significantly less fat and calories in them.

Well, they are doing their job because I won't eat them. I really don't eat enough avocados yearly to worry about calories and fat content, so I definitely won't eat one with no taste. Good to know though.

I fucking love vegetables. Whenever me and the girl go out to eat, whether that's in SD, OC, LA or wherever, we always check the vegetable section of a menu to see if it's worth eating at. I don't eat meat as much as I used to so I tend to eat other dishes, but vegetables are a staple in my diet. Where we live we have a lot of good produce so there's plenty of good restaurants in the surrounding areas. We're about 30+ from the closest spot that I'd consider legit but fortunately we're located kind of in the middle of everything with LA being a bit farther than SD.

Even if you did, the fats in avocado are healthy fats, which are doing you good.

Was going to put this in the 'Things that annoy me thread' but #2thread10posts etc.

These cunts...fuck me...they do my head in. Any adult who claims to dislike all vegetables (the food, not the afflicted)really are bastards.

Some of them even boast about it, ffs.

All the variety in tastes and textures and all that shit...it's literally impossible to dislike them all.

My Dad's wife is kinda like this. She was stayiing with us for a few weeks there and i swear to fuck, it was like feeding a fuckin todler. Even when we went out for meals, the humming and hawing over the menu.
I like carrots, well I don't like them, but I'm happy to eat them and can fill up a carvery plate full of it, but it's mostly tasteless to me... That's about it though..

I'm amazed @Strike hasn't called me out on this thread already
