Oh ok what would he have done?
There is nothing anyone, especially a foreign governing body, can do to change the mindset of the people over there. The best thing the US could have done, besides not getting involved in the first place, is to have removed all their military vehicles, arms, ammo, etc. before pulling out.

They had to know that the so-called Army they were supporting all these years was not going to do anything but lay down their arms when the US soldiers left that country. It's happened before, and I dare say it will happen again. Now, all those weapons are in the hands of the Taliban to be used against anyone getting involved in their countries problems in the future.

We won the war in 3 weeks though
Invading a country does not equal winning a war.
You win a war by achieving your objective.
Would you say the U.S. and it's allies accomplished their objective in Afghanistan?

Anyone surprised by this news hasn’t been following the situation.
It was always going to be the case that the Talibam would take control, not that they ever really lost it..

History keeps repeating, USSR was in the same mess over there and left without a victory, same with the US........it's really crazy to think about, but no matter how much physical force you apply you just cant beat the Taliban and all those local tribes.

It's gotta be change via some other means, America/the west or whoever need to convince Afghanis somehow that a different way of life is better....but that's a long game and everyone just wants immediate results, and getting re elected is always the stronger priority.
