Well in the last 24 hours I have posted in:

  • Pacific Islands thread
  • Insane SJW thread (that I started)
  • Dozen post update in the eerie/creepy thread that I started and have regularly updated for years
  • Posted a couple of times in the Petty Irritants thread (that I started).
I only talk about one thing? Half of this lounge is threads I started about any random topic under the sun, ffs. I routinely get trashed for wanting to ask the forum's stance on some completely random shit. :patsch

:hat
 You just can't help yourself, every fucking time you have to bite. What are you trying to prove? Who are you trying to prove it to? Is anyone reading that and actually caring? You are talking to yourself you peanut why can't you just shut it and be a normal person for a change. Self centered, self absorbed fuck wit

Proposals have been offered, which are proven revenue-generators, both here in the mid-20th century and elsewhere right now. AOC's idea of raising the top marginal income tax rate to 70 percent (I would go even higher to the 91 percent rate that prevaied in the 1950s), combined with Warren's wealth tax and Sanders' proposed increases in the inheritance tax are good ideas that will not only generate revenue to finance proposals like the green New Deal but also will reduce the obscene economic inequality that has developed in the U.S. over the last 35-40 years.
Nobody in the 50s actually paid 91% tax rate, nobody.

As for the rest of your post.......They should just sell all the unicorns to pay for it all.

Haven't been following politics much lately but for some reason YouTube has been suggesting the fuck out of her lately. Unless there's a lot of crazy in the stuff I haven't seen I don't get it. I saw 2 videos in one she talks about how fucked our system is, how politicians can legally be funded by corporations and then go on to make laws to benefit those corporations and how they are allowed to buy and sell stock in companies directly affected by the laws they write.

in the other she defends her stance on universal healthcare addressing the question of the cost. points out how we already pay out the nose for healthcare. As someone that pays over $1000 per month for health insurance for my family plus deductibles I thought she made some good points. When people talk about the price tag of healthcare they don't take into account everything we already pay.

I think she looks a little ditzy cause she's pretty and young and that instantly makes people take her less seriously but I don't think she sounds stupider than Ted Cruz saying that net neutrality is "Obamacare for the internet" or reading fucking doctor seuss in the middle of Congress. if anything he makes her look like a fucking Mensa member.

the most recent nugget from Cruz, Chapo will pay for Trump's stupid wall. He thinks the US is going to seize $14 billion dollars, most of which is held overseas and hidden behind aliases, shell corporations, etc and use it to build a wall.

The Democratic Party is committing suicide by backing illegal aliens over US citizens, governing our major cities and they become turd and needle infested literal shitholes, and talking about confiscatory income tax rates all the while promoting socialism. It is amazing to watch.
I've been hearing about how one party or the other is committing suicide my whole life. After Bush it seemed like Republicans would never win anything again. Our system is cyclical. The 2 parties just take turns fucking us all.

And the 91% rate under Eisenhower was on corporation tax. The whole point of which, in the aftermath of a World war, was to incentivize big business owners and captains of industry to invest their money back into enterprise, expansion and the economy, instead of hording it away, as this type of reinvestment was tax deductible. Not so the government can come along and pocket people's money for themselves, which is all Ocasio-Cortez wants to do. A lot of people clearly don't know or understand this crucial point when they bring up previous high tax rates. Only the totally ignorant think that people in the 1950's were actually handing over 90% of their money to the government.

Ocasio-Cortez is genuinely stupid. The fact that Republicans and conservatives can also be stupid does not negate this.

Do you have any source for that? Money invested in stock is not a tax deduction right now for a corporation unless the money is put in an IRA.

No, no and no. It was not a corporate tax, it was a personal income tax, and that was the top marginal rate - that is, it was paid on high incomes.

Here is a link to the income tax rates to document this point:

Did many reduce the effective rate it with deductions? Sure. But they still paid more than they do now, and those resources were invested in a variety of programs and initiatives - including low or no cost public higher education - that benefited the majority of the population. AOC is hardly "stupid," in fact she is right on the money in suggesting that going back to these high marginal rates that were in place in the mid-20th century would benefit the majority of us by reducing the obscene economic ineqaulity created, in part, by drastic reductions in these top marginal rates since the 1980s.

A page back someone told you to "fuck off" and called you a "cuntface." Are you going to let that go by without a retort?

LOL This is true, but I have never seen a political party openly side with non-citizen criminals over taxpaying citizens before. It is goddamn weird. That and the infanticide thing is unique at least in my experience.

Zak already corrected you on this but I'll just add to this, you're wrong. The 91% under Eisenhower was the top marginal income tax rate. Matter of fact, the highest marginal income tax rate was always over 50% between the FDR years and the middle of Reagan's presidency. Since the middle of Reagan's presidency, the rate has never gone up above 39.6% which is what it went up to during Clinton's presidency and Obama's presidency.

I don't even agree with AOC on the 70% top marginal tax rate, but let's be honest, it's hardly a radical idea since it was around that level or higher for most of the 20th century. I myself would rather see the rate somewhere in the 40s but closing enough loopholes for some of those making 2 million dollars a year or more to not pay a low effective tax rate, like some of the really rich that pay an effective rate of less than 20%.

It's becoming clear why the right hate this person so much and why the low information retards are helping push the "she's an idiot" line to discredit her.

This is apparently the most viewed political video on twitter ever. The right simply can't allow that kind of exposure to go unchecked.

I defy anyone who says the person who constructed this argument is an idiot. She absolutely dismantles campaign finance laws in a way even the most retarded person could understand. Although someone may still need to simplify for it Clarence.

Where's all the American patriots at to object to this?

She basically gets attacked or muzzled in 3 different ways

  1. The right wing media who attacks her for just for being a left winger
  2. The establishment democrats and republicans who attack her for being a threat to the status quo(see Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul)
  3. The establishment media that's more on the side of the democrats(msnbc, cnn) and will treat her friendlier but will only give her air time to talk about more mainstream political issues and debates such as the government shutdown, immigration, Obamacare, etc. rather than her more outside the box ideas like the 70% marginal top tax rate, campaign finance overhaul, and her green new deal

it's free speech. that's literally the argument for this bullshit. not allowing corporations to buy politicians would be a violation of their free speech

Non-citizen criminals didn't vote for The Don. That's what unites them.
non citizen criminals didn't vote for anyone. Contrary to the belief of way too many people far too stupid to pass 5th grade social studies illegals are not allowed to vote.

I would pee in her butt for sure.

Thank you.

Your President - who you personally voted for - openly sides with non-citizen criminals and hostile foreign dictators over taxpaying American citizens. Routinely. Seen that before? Seems pretty goddamned weird to me.
