Man...his opponent's record is (14 60 5 ) and he hasn't had a win in more fights than I can be arsed to count. Where is Walsh returning from? The dead?
 I believe Walsh's original opponent pulled out earlier this week. Even so, you would have hoped they had a better guy on standby...

Yeah definitely. To be fair Walsh has been out a while, just checked and I'm surprised to see that it's been 2 years since Walsh's last fight and defeat to Davis.

What a bizarre career Basheel has had so far. Debut at 17. Lost her first five fights. Then has won eight bouts by stoppage in a row.

Shame she has only had one fight in 18 months.
Have MTK researched this opponent properly? a woman fighter with 8 KO's is very unusual. This screams of Matchroom matchmaking, underrating a foreign opponent.

Basheel really hurt Sam Smith, who doesn't have a bad chin. Smith recently fought against this opponent, http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/793604 - her pysique looked like she'd been on the Ingle diet, even Steven Goodwin mentioned on his podcast that something was dodgy about the lack of drug testing.

Basheel is the mandatory for the WBC belt, the drug testing seems a bit hit and miss

Retirements aside, does anyone know any fighters who have left MTK? :think1
Tommy McCarthy probably the highest-profile to leave.

Interview with him about his reasons why - http://www.irish-boxing.com/tommy-mccarthy-reveals-reasons-for-mtk-split/

Then there is Sean Creagh (who later rejoined), Jake Hanney, Stephen Carroll (who never had a fight with them), and Craig O'Brien.

MTK also had an association with Roy Jones Jr announced that I don't think has come to anything (although he is involved with Oubaali and Mimoune who are under the MTK banner)

Was just curious after going down an MTK rabbit hole a few days ago. This part of an article stuck with me:

"...One person agreed to talk but only under the condition of not just anonymity but on an encrypted line, saying "it says much about boxing that just to chat about an aspect of a sport, it has to be like this". Another involved said if they were approached by MTK tomorrow and "told to walk away from all they have, I'd do it instantly". They added: "You'd be better staying away from it too.""
