Just saw this news on the darts site I frequent. Andy "The Viking" Fordham has passed away at age 59. He was a frequent fixture on the PDC tour several years ago but had health issues attributed to his lifestyle with hard drinking and eating. He was a massive man who at one tournament had to be helped off stage due to him having health issues and it was found he had to make serious lifestyle changes or he wasn't going to live long. He did lose a lot of weight in the subsequent years by leading a more healthful lifestyle, but would yoyo up and down in weight from time to time.

I remember announcers saying Andy would often drink 18 or more pints backstage prior to coming on stage to play darts. If that were me, I'd not be able to walk, much less play at the level he did after all that beer.

RIP Andy Fordham

RIP the Viking. Played Andy a couple of times in exhibition games in the Roadhouse bar Garthamlock. He was a lovely guy, a gentle giant. Can't remember him drinking pints though, it was always wee bottles of lager...Pils I think. He drank about 2 dozen a night.
He was also a good Ranger's man.

I know he had liver issues. I hope he is ok.

Im surprised he just vanished
Same here. For a guy who posted daily to just vanish and not be heard from is not a good sign. Usually if anything goes wrong, someone will come in and let the group know with some type update as to their status.
