I'm not sure it's a great idea to go into an immediate rematch, Joshua was beaten comprehensively. Lose like that again and the marketability takes a massive hit. Not to mention the long road back.

Rematch is winnable but a big gamble. Andy Ruiz is a hard matchup for AJ.

AJs main issue is he is thick as pigshit. He genuinely has a low IQ and can’t really think for himself. Something just seems off whenever he speaks or asks a question.
When he’s quoting all this philosophical shite it’s like he’s just parroting it without understanding any of what it means.
You saw it in the corner last night - he was actually asking Rob McClaren ‘what’s Ruiz going to do?’. It’s like he can’t function without direct instruction

He needs someone guiding him on every step

He’s also a bit of a bully mentality and has things his own way a lot. No one ever punishes him for hitting after the bell and when the ref is between him and his opponent, dropping his mouth guard etc. It was over 25 seconds between being knocked down and the fight being stopped and people are actually saying the ref stopped it early or he didn’t quit

Think he wins the rematch though

I watched the fight smashed out of my mind on cask ale. Had 5 pints of best bitter and 2 pints from tiny rebel and these functioned as PEDs to allow me to make these acute psychological assessments

Heel turn by AJ, uppercuts McCracken through the barbershop window live on Soccer AM, he goes over at wembley with the help a dodgy ref and interference from "Fast" Eddie, reign of the Notorious AJ begins with PPV wins against Price, Allen and Little, rips the booing crowd to bits on the mic after beating Bellew on PPV, Fury appears through the crowd with a steel chair, Adam Smith on comms screaming "Fury! What's Fury doing in the Matchroom zone?!", Fury vs AJ 2022, Fury wins on points, Fury redemption arc complete.

It really was thats crazy, he was totally done.

Im really not sure about the rematch at all, if I had to pick would go Joshua via close decision in a boring fight where he just stays out of range as much as possible and throws a few jabs and holds a lot.

I'm leaning 60/40 in the direction of Joshua winning a decision in the rematch if he plays it safe and decides to box and jab more. Even if he wins though, he's lunch meat for Fury or Wilder.

If Ruiz were to work on counter-punching AJ's lazy jab to the body with crisp and explosive right hooks he might spark him even quicker..

AJ needs to (re)learn how and when to even throw a proper jab to the chin. But like I said just some more weight lifting and he'll be fine.

If AJ doesn't work on and use his jab to the face more in the rematch, then he might as well retire. Ruiz is shorter and slower(body movement, not hands). There's no reason to let a quick fisted fighter get inside if you have the physical tools that Joshua has.

It's interesting what you say about him spouting a load of philosophy.

@Strike said a while back when AJ loses he will come out and say it's just like sharpening a sword .

You need to break down the sword.

So it can come back sharper and better and stronger.

That's his destiny. To come back and reclaim the throne.

A bit like King Arthur pulling the sword from the stone.

The chosen one.

Destiny.

Everything happens for a reason.

We saw Naz do this. But even he looked more gutted than AJ. He should be embarrassed and angry...
Naz was relieved the fight was over.

He didn't want to fight Barrera he knew it was a high risk loss fight.

When he lost at least it was over them relieved.

Then Naz slipped into a depression away from.the cameras at the reality of ehag happened.

And he never was the same again.

If Joshua realises he is actually a big hype job and got smashed to bits and depression sets in he is finished.

Broken man.

And there be plenty eager to fight him now he got exposed. And smash him again.

He better off just calling it quits.
