For Fuck's sake another shitty 4am start time. If the American PPV didn't rape their viewers for $90 a pop then the 80k at Wembley/Cardiff would be more lucrative but as it is US will always reap more $$$. AJ must be pretty confident he can get the job done as a second straight loss stateside will end any chance of being taken seriously over there (and probably everywhere). I don't understand giving up the natural advantage of Cardiff with all his own fans and the familarity of the training camps that won him the first 22. If it works it we'll be legendary but if it fails it will be seen as naive.
Perhaps it is because he is a competitor first and foremost and this 'oh, but he's got £100m' stuff is more about the way his fans think than him?

It just seems odd to not take the advantages available to you especially with the stakes so astronomically high.

Unfortunately, I can't see AJ fighting at World Level again if he loses this. Whoever wins out of Fury and Wilder with have no interest as it's all downside fighting such a tarnished former star but someone who could still cause an upset. Ruiz will probably have to fight Pulev as IBF mandatory and then pick up an easy defense probably both in California/Mexico to make some big $$$ before a big fight against Fury/Wilder. Joshua might get a Whyte fight which probably would make reasonable money even though no belts would be on the line. Other options are likely other Matchroom guys, Parker II, Usyk (could be a good 2nd or third fight for him) maybe even Hrgovic. None of these will lead to World Title fights tho and maybe I'm wrong and AJ won't mind fighting on as a 2nd Tier guy but I still hope he retires if he loses, it's the more dignified option.

Eddie saying Joshua wants it in New York again

I guess it’s not in the contract at all
Yeah looks like spin doctoring as usual Hearns team probably did'nt bother putting the location for rematch in contract.

Afterall fight looked like a certain victory for AJ going in.

Now Uncle Al Haymon is going to be demanding a bigger paycheck for the fight to be in U.K.

To get him used to do the drug testing hes going to have to do against Wilder, the WBC have serious testing

Nope he’s bang on.
Yeh a guy who held 3 of the 4 belts and beat WK, Parker, Whyte and Povetkin is "not good at Boxing". Typical AJ hater jumps on trash talk from a guy who has 1 big win and a load of others against stooges. He should stick to eating cause this just makes him look stupid!

That one big win was a TKO over Joshua. He was the better man that night and if he wins again he's clearly the better boxer. Walked right inside, dodged and blocked AJ's shots, and landed most of his own. He was relaxed as can be in there while AJ looked like a newborn horse, nervous, out of place and off balance.

I like AJ, but Ruiz boxed well and AJ did not that night. He rushed in after knocking him down, went for the kill, and took one flush on the temple.

I'm not saying AJ didn't lose the fight but he didn't look right and he made the mistake of rushing in which is understandable as nearly everyone else was on their last legs after the big shot (even WK in the 11th after "that uppercut"). Saying someone with AJ's credentials cant box is pretty disrepectful and shows the good guy act before the first fight was just that, an act. If he is the better fighter ( which I don't believe but accept is possible) then he should keep his mouth shut and show it in the ring.

I think it's mind games if AJ has a weakness or had one that night it was cardio and composure.

You seem to be the biggest AJ fan on here and I respect that. I was having fun talking trash myself, but respect all fighters. May the best man win. I need to see the video of Ruiz posted a little bit earlier to see if he is getting overconfident. I'm sure he'll be well prepared and his team will keep him focused.

It was the only night he has looked anywhere near that bad. WK had him down, Whyte rattled him and he came back. Something extra was going on for him to not be able to recover, whether it was the location of the punch or otherwise.

Thanks it appears not to be a hard bar to vault round here considering the abuse I get. That is true, I respect them as fighters just not always the people they are out of the ring as whatever risks they take in the ring their status gives them a responsibility to be ambassadors and there are lots who fail that bar. I struggle to believe that a well prepared, well trained, tactically informed AJ can't beat Ruiz. Ruiz may be Mexican, he may have way more amateur experience but AJ's physical advantages if used correctly have to count, it makes no sense to say some of Ruiz's stature and physique is inherently better then AJ. If so it busts 150 years of Sports science.

A couple of old men and a crap performance over Parker? Whatever floats your boat pal. AJ hasn’t dominated anyone like how Ruiz dominated him.

Lol. Your Fury Tinted glasses really do change what you see! The WK AJ beat was way better than unmotivated version your beloved Fury beat. He easily outpointed Parker and never looked like losing any of the other fights even when he was stunned by Whyte. The reason Ruiz had the opportunity to dominate is that AJ had heart even when he was concussed and most of AJ's opponents didn't keep get back up as he put them down for good first time. (including guys who had never been stopped like Kevin Johnson).

Joshua has a bully mentality really, a good athlete but a shocking boxer.

Ruiz didn't even have to cut the ring off, he was just quicker handed and countered with them.

It was the first time Joshua fought someone who didn't panic or wasn't fazed being dropped and he didn't know what to do, couldn't handle it back at him and at the end of the day he quit

Exactly that. He’s all physical attributes, minimal boxing ability.

It was a short notice fight and the perfect storm... Visible bruising and a cut on his face from sparring, opponent was also an Olympian, young, hungry opponent, first fight in America, 20+ yes men, rumors of being hurt in sparring, didn't look right pre fight... It's getting a little annoying you guys going in on Joshua. He won gold and had a few title defenses. If he wins the rematch a lot of you are going to eat crow.

Time to tone it down and visualize the rematch and the comeback. Not saying he'll win (haven't put much thought into it), but stop saying shit like he has minimal boxing ability that's silly. The loss will be the best thing to happen to him it will force him to change for the better and other things the public might not know about.

Not being hostile at all, but let's be realistic here this is the former heavyweight champ of the world. Not as bad as some of you are making him out to be :good
