Anthony Ogogo isn't done with boxing yet, having more eye surgery... Has now retired.

I dont know what he thinks he will achieve after all of this. Even a little small hall fight against a nobody, will put his eyes at risk again.

He's just coming across as someone who's painfully deluded and so far away removed from reality. All these videos and tweets he's published are signs of someone who's not mentally all there.

His wrestling credentials seem to rest upon his belief that he could beat up his own t shirt. Surely the Board wouldn't clear him for a professional boxing match? It's sad when anything keeps you from your dream but it does seem that he needs to step away from talk of competing at any sort of level. Any level of boxer can hit hard enough to do serious eye damage, which in his case could be permanent. Sad stuff.

I know he's quite a big fan of pro wrestling, so it's not a bad avenue for him to go down instead of boxing if he is serious about it. He'll still get the buzz of performing, it's still physical combat of sorts and, most importantly, his eye will be better protected (although still at risk).

Yes, fair enough, but still a helluva risk with that eye, and far from a guarantee that there's any real money in it to warrant the risk.

Are you joking? Aren't basically 90% of old wrestlers either dead or complete washed up wrecks?

He needs to be saved from himself. Which I'd have some confidence with the BBBC doing, but he'd probably go via some rinky dink euro board and get licenced.

To go through all this shit not to save your sight for the rest of your life but rather so he can get punched in the head by guys who punch people in the head for a living? That doesn't seem too smart.

He's a great guy though, I met him at women's ABAs once and he was a genuinely lovely person.

Being a huge cynic I can't help but wonder if he knows he's done, and is doing this surgery to just improve his sight and then use it as a good story as he tries to transition into a media type roll, either in boxing or tv/media in general?

He then becomes the guy who was robbed of his dreams, who fought hard for them but had to move on. Him putting it all on social media like he is desperate to return to the thing he loves gets the story out there to the wider public.

That's just me being completely cynical though.

Am I making it up that he wrestled early last year on the same card as Grant Holt, the footballer? I think it's just a PR stunt for the wrestling promotion in Norwich.

I dont think he is making it up, he seemed quite devistated when it didnt work the time before... Saying that, I hope we dont seem him as pundit either though, I cant stand his interviews and presenting etc
