Anthony Ogogo is behaving like an a spoilt idiot. What on earth is he trying to prove here exactly? Yes people should never give up on their dreams blah di blah but this is just nonsense. He's endangering his own life, his own eyesight to prove some sort of warped point to people and to himself that you can achieve anything if you keep trying? Fucking idiot. Ignoring the advice of well educated doctors, he had to go abroad to find one, willing to do his surgery as most sensible doctors who have some sort of moral conscience and professionalism, turned him down. I've no idea why he's getting so much messages of support but then again he's plastering his twitter feed with tweets and videos literally begging for support so not surprised there are some stupid people out there supporting him in this. At the end of the day, this is just lunacy. It's not brave or courageous at all. It's idiotic.

Harsh but fair. He needs someone in his life to tell him no.

If people acted logically, in accordance with doctors opinions and without endangering their lives, this sport wouldn't exist. For the vast majority of boxers, you end up with nothing other than varying levels of brain damage.

I don't think he should be doing what he's doing, but I certainly have sympathy and respect him for trying everything he can.

Sorry mate, there's nothing about this at all that deserves sympathy or respect. Just take one look at him. He looks deformed now. He's wrecking his own eyes and for what exactly? Does he actually think he'll even get in a boxing ring again to spar let alone go on a run of victories and then get a title shot? He's barking mad and he's pissing his own money up the wall. There's just no logic to this whatsoever. Nothing about this makes any sense at all. Colossal waste of what probably were a good pair of eyes, time and money here. Yes I am harsh because I dont get his reasoning behind this at all. He wants to fulful his dream of what? When he was starting out in boxing, he had injuries left, right and centre and couldnt manage a string of fights and kept on jumping from promoter to promoter. Now he's actually fucked, he thinks he can chase his dream? When you have to search for doctors to operate on you and operate on such a risky part of your body, that should tell you all you need to know. Any doctor worth their salt wouldn't touch Ogogo with a bargepole.

Boxing isnt a game. He should know this. Even if he does miraculously manage to come back, what will he be like in sparring? What if his sparring partners start bashing him in the eye causing his eye to swell up and bleed. What about if he gets through sparring and gets a competitive fight. His opponent wont have any mercy on him. Does he think he's some kind of machine that will walk through opponents once he comes back. He'll be hit and he'll screw his eyes up once more but this time there wont be a doctor to save him as it'll be too late. HIs family should be dragging his behind back to Norwich and telling him to do something else.

Meh, there's nothing wrong in chasing your dreams but it does sound and looks very much like he's in denial. It's a shame, he could never put gloves on again in his life and still be proud of what he did in the sport, not many manage to win an Olympic medal.

It really doesnt seem like a good idea him getting back in the ring but even if he was totally fine and medically fit to fight, reality is he just isn't a very good pro fighter. He'd probably get beaten badly the minute he steps up anyway regardless of the state of his eyes. It's his life so he can do what he wants and I do believe he's not just putting himself through this for money or ego. His geniunely loves the sport and thinks he can succeed it. It's just why at this point does he still think it's worth it because it obviously isn't. Hopefully someone close can talk him into realising that because seeing a nice guy like Ogogo back in the ring only get seriously and permanently damaged would be truly horrible.

Fuck it, I find his determination admirable. I don't think any of us can comprehend how tough it must be for him to give up on his dreams. It's not like he even got the opportunity to give a proper go, must be a sickener.

To keep such a positive outlook when your whole world is falling apart around you is admirable. The guy's mentally strong as fuck and I really hope he finds his place in boxing tbh.

The nicest guy in Boxing. Really admire his determination to do what he is doing. Sure I read he had to remortgage his house to pay for these operations. His Instagram videos are heartbreaking to watch actually and inspiring at the same time.

Man needs saving from himself- 15 surgeries on his eyes 6 since he got busted open. Even if he recovers, with a medical record like that I'd hope that Board would give serious consideration to declining his licence.
