In a nutshell for the benefit of those who cant watch or dont have the time..Says he had direct, blunt and frank conversations with Tunde Ajayi after both Kovalev and Arthur fights.
Ironically, this has caused me to now put 20-30 mins aside later in order to watch in full. It popped up on my recommended 1-2 days ago but when I saw how long it was I skipped over it expecting it would just be what we've all heard before, nice summary thanksIn a nutshell for the benefit of those who cant watch or dont have the time..Says he had direct, blunt and frank conversations with Tunde Ajayi after both Kovalev and Arthur fights.
Feels both he and Tunde Ajayi were overwhelmed by the occasion in Kovalev fight. Cus neither of them had been on that stage before.
Does not feel Tundes instructions where upto scratch in Kovalev fight.
Lyndon Arthur fight still claims he won. But grudgingly acknowledges the fight was alot closer then he realised.
Feels his corner should have instructed him to let his hands go sooner. Instead of reinforcing his belief he was comfortably head.
There will be changes in his camp. Whether its bringing in an additional coach to work alongside Tunde. Or a completeley new one he
Is yet to decide.
When he said he won't openly say he's leaving Tunde and won't openly say he'll stay with Tunde I felt the conflict in his heart, he obviously loves Tunde but he's wondering if he can take him to the pinnacle. If that's what he truly believes then it'll be the right decision whatever he makes but what I wouldn't like to see is him part ways with Ajayi because the majority of people on social media say he should. Only Yarde knows what a full training camp is with Ajayi and only he knows how much of his early success and failure in the ring is down to Ajayi. It can't be all Ajayi's fault when they don't get a result, when two boxers fight one has to lose, both men have trainers and training camps, Kovalev on paper was better than Yarde and on the night he was better than Yarde. It could be argued that no matter what Ajayi told Yarde at any time during the fight he still would have lost, Ajayi can't control what the other guy does, I don't like the way he is villified by people on the outside. He took Yarde from nothing and helped make him something. But if time is up on the relationship then so be it, I hope they can work it out between themselves and agree to do what's in Yarde's best interests.
Tunde also has a managerial contract. So he cant simply leave him he will be in breach of contract. When he said he won't openly say he's leaving Tunde and won't openly say he'll stay with Tunde I felt the conflict in his heart, he obviously loves Tunde but he's wondering if he can take him to the pinnacle. If it turned nasty that would be a tragedy, this is why they need to hold talks behind closed doors and without a running commentary. I hope we hear nothing more until a decision has been made.Tunde also has a managerial contract. So he cant simply leave him he will be in breach of contract.
A smart guy knows his own limitations and has the foresight to bring in someone with better credentials into the team..... instead of waiting for a social media campaign. If it turned nasty that would be a tragedy, this is why they need to hold talks behind closed doors and without a running commentary. Most of the criticism I see for Ajayi however is for his training credentials (or lack thereof) rather than his ability to manage his career, the Adidas deal and the Queensbury contract I understand are the work of the manager and on the face of it was a great bit of business for Yarde.
I think if he splits with Ajayi it's because Ajayi couldn't humble himself enough to accept the fighter's request that an additional coach be brought in to work with him. He has his own "trademark" training regiment and he might view agreeing such a request as having conceded defeat and acceptance that the training system he says he's built from scratch, isn't any good or isn't good enough anymore I should say. He has 100% faith in it himself, you only need to listen to his interviews and he has no doubt that he's on to something but it seems he might have lost the fighter. Yarde said he'll announce by end of the year so news should be imminent.A smart guy knows his own limitations and has the foresight to bring in someone with better credentials into the team..... instead of waiting for a social media campaign.
The split is going to happen the die has been cast. Tunde Ajayi as a manager should have downgraded his involvement long ago and brought in a more experienced coach as it stands sooner or later he probably will be left without any involvement...and Yarde will move on.
Who are you to doubt system 9!?I think if he splits with Ajayi it's because Ajayi couldn't humble himself enough to accept the fighter's request that an additional coach be brought in to work with him. There is no boxing system the only system is a marketing system...It is a sales and marketing gimmick recommended in the sales and advertising books from the 80's and early 90's.I think if he splits with Ajayi it's because Ajayi couldn't humble himself enough to accept the fighter's request that an additional coach be brought in to work with him.
