I actually need to watch penny dreadful and completely forgot about it. Ty!
It's disappointing. I loved the idea and setting, but found the first season dull as fuck and gave up. The concept was great, but it was pretentious, slow and just meandered around trying to be arty. There was one really cool scene early on, but I finished the first season just to make absolutely sure I wasn't bailing too early, but obviously it's subjective, so you might like it.

Well part 3 was ok. I read the ending had Twitter in an uproar but tbh I quite liked it I thought it was original enough.

Well the first episode never wanted to end - dafug? 1,5hrs? Acceptable amount or gore and Gothic horror elements, some interesting adaptation choices, but a little too dull and dragging so far, and need some free time to burn to continue on. We'll see.

I thought it started out great and got worse every episode, really didn't like the third
Yeah, damn shame as it started pretty well too. It was done by the same team that produces Sherlock, so I expected better.
I thought the main guy was pretty crap to be honest. Hammed it up way too much the further he got into the series....ended up more Dr. Frank-N-Furter than Count Dracula.

That was what put me off to begin with.

Only saw half of episode 3 so far but if you thought ep.2 was heavy on the BBC politics then hoo-wee boy, get a load of episode 3 where it's womens rights, dont'cha'know... That Dracula is such a 17th century misogynist.

Outwith that it's a decent enough show so far.
