Anyone invest in Cryptocurrency?

  • CHB will be closing down as of 31st July 2021. It's been a brilliant experience to run the website for the past 9 years, however it's time for me to move onto different projects. Thanks to every single person involved, from staff, former staff, posters old and current. All support means more than anyone knows. Thanks for your understanding.

Anyone on VeChain? I really like what they are doing and might invest in VET.
I see many people (rightfully) shorting it now after that crazy run up. It could go higher but risky, so use a stop loss and determine at what pice you'll exit if it goes against you. Just my 2 cents.

Still doing well at the minute. Did have a big correction but now has done really well over the last 48 hours. Half tempted to trade out and then by back in. risky though I guess.

I'll probably throw 3k into bitcoin once it comes back down, but apparently the price spikes in 2013 and 2017 were both caused by one whale. That's very alarming.

I know absolutely nothing about this stuff. I just randomly put some money into ethereum sometime in 2020, something low like 200 dollars. I forgot about it then saw it was at 800, and thought, I shouldve just put 3k in. I dont understand this shit.

Same. I really don't know much about this if I'm honest. Wish I was super clued up as many of those who know exactly what to do and where to put their money. Is cryptocurrency just a single entity or are there multiple cryptocurrencies which are better or worse than others?

Multiple, and yeah, I should've actually learnt properly 2-3 years ago.. Even now I barely know beyond pot luck.

Is it similar to bitcoin?
bitcoin is (one of) the technologies, and also the Name of one of the cryptocurrenices. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Nano, Tron etc. are all cryptocurrencies that make use of blockchains to keep track of it all.

if you have a google, you can obtain free (and questionable ;-)) copies of that, and while it'll waffle a bit, it gives you a pretty solid background on the whole thing.

Oh ok, nice. Yeah would be good to get more knowledge on the whole cryptocurrency thing. I heard that if someone invested in bitcoin when it started with something like a £1000, they would be a millionaire by now. Then again, suppose you could say the same for investing in Applea andAmazon etc.

Nobody knows exactly what to do. I know people who have made good money on crypto’s. I listen to them talk about their strategy and realise they have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.

Since the March 2020 crash, we’ve seen a massive rally in crypto’s and equity markets. You don’t really need to know the first thing about them in either case, you simply need to be in them.

For me, crypto’s are purely speculative at this point. 99% of the same people who claim to know them well would lose a fortune if the price started falling.
