I dont understand.
The sandwiches look plain, boring, and not worth the fuss.
At all.

I dont eat a ton of fast food though. Havent for years. But people losing their shit....over a shitty chicken sandwich?
You should at least try one before offering an opinion on it. The sandwiches are restaurant quality and beyond the grade of typical fastfood; there's no doubt about that.

They should honestly raise the price a bit to curtail some of the demand.

Sounds like any number of kebab shops in the UK to be fair. Where I grew up McDonalds had security guards on weekend nights as it always kicked off.
Yeah, maybe. Just anywhere I've been it's usually good vibes, and I was hardly ever out in decent areas. The again, I guess the times in the US stand out for me as I actually remember them as I was on holiday.

I should try a sandwich (a "restaurant quality" one no doubt-whatever that means) before questioning the hysteria over them?

I think Ill just question the utter stupidity of fighting over a deep fried piece of chicken, on a bun.

I mean, there's no justification for any hysteria, but it's not just a "shitty chicken sandwich". That's all I'm saying.

K....understood.

I am from Canada...same fast food shit as you guys, perhaps dialed down a bit however.

These things are just chicken sandwiches.
Plain and simple.
Good? Sure.

But they are not 25.00 entrees. Its fast food.

Now, I am from the Pacific Northwest. The proliferation here in my small city of boutique sandwich houses, etc makes it harder to judge the big chains serving slop and passing it off as food fairly. It makes it that much harder to understand anyone getting bent out of shape over a McChicken.

Food is always just food. Even if you went to the fanciest restaurant in the world and ordered fried chicken, that's all it would really be.

The best steak I have ever had in my life was at a buffet joint (Golden Corral's), not a gourmet steak restaurant.

If something tastes good, it tastes good. As far as a simple chicken sandwich goes, I believe that Popeye's version is FAR superior to any of its competitors... and overly affordable. That's a perfect storm for people to go out there and act a fool.

Are the people actually fighting over the chicken sandwiches in those videos? They just seem like your typical trashy fights that always seem to occur in American fast food places.

There's always weird vibes in fast food places, mostly at night, when I've been in the US. I remember feeling really on edge in both LA and Vegas when I was getting fast food at midnight or later. Dunno if it was my ignorance in the situation but I'm usually pretty decent at sensing these sort of things. Everywhere else I've been it's usually just a load of drunk people having a good time, 4am at McDonald's was the place to be after a night out. In the US it felt like a load of hoodlums were about, mean mugging and it felt like one wrong word and it would go off.
It really depends on where you are. In the bigger cities near places for pub crawls or sporting events, you can see a lot of brutal fights at the fast food shops after midnight or so. The cops have a lot to do so they aren't so quick to respond, and it often gets out of hand with someone being stabbed or shot.

Where I live in the relatively affluent suburbs, nothing ever happens at any time, except a rare dispute usually with a homeless insane person or a totally drunk idiot. And the cops are there in a matter of a couple of minutes, and well, being US cops, nobody wants to get shot so it always ends as soon as the siren is heard.

Anyway I go to fast food joints in my area at any time it strikes my fancy, and I feel totally safe no matter of the time. I would not do that in the inner city.

You guys remember that old vid where Popeye’s wouldn’t let me use my mom’s debit card so I made them count out my change for some chicken?

Well this time around, they are calling out Chic Filet in a battle of chicken sandwiches and IMO, they are losing badly.

Went to Popeye’s at noon and they are sold out.

The Popeye’s employees look f’n miserable and I don’t think a chicken joint is I’ll prepared on how to make a decent chicken sandwich. Meanwhile Chick Filet has their sandwich skills to a science

Not only that, but everyone has their racial and ideological differences trying to pick and choose why Popeye’s and or Chic Filet is better..

Chick Filet KO Popeye’s Round 1
I prefer El Pollo Loco. Never had Popeyes.

Popeye’s is better than KFC.

But I GET the Mexican style of chicken..

Do you just not like fried foods?
No, I love fried foods. I just have never lived anywhere that had a Popeyes nearby.

Of those I have tried, I would rate El Pollo over KFC. I need to try the Chik-Fil-A that recently opened near my house soon. I hear good things.

Remember Flava Flav Chicken? I tried it when it first came out. It wasn't bad but expensive.
I never tried it. Chicken is OK, but I much prefer a good beef steak. I eat chicken at times, usually the breast meat as it is a large enough portion by itself. I usually marinate it in Teriyaki marinade first if I cook it at home. I do like deep fried "Buffalo Wings" especially the little drumsticks.
