Anyone keeping up with the Popeye’s vs Chick Filet battle?

I never tried it. Chicken is OK, but I much prefer a good beef steak. I eat chicken at times, usually the breast meat as it is a large enough portion by itself. I usually marinate it in Teriyaki marinade first if I cook it at home. I do like deep fried "Buffalo Wings" especially the little drumsticks.
Yeah. I'd much rather have a good steak. Rare. Bite the cow. I'm a Breast Man, too. Buffalo Wings are cool, too. I BBQ them first for a hot minute. Then fry them for a minute with hot sauce mixed with oil.

I once made a thread on ESB titled, "The Power of Chicken", full of videos of people going batshit insane over chicken sandwiches and chicken nuggets. I foretold events of mass hysteria and violence. None of you heathen motherfuckers heeded my warning.

Popeye's chicken sandwich was just the beginning...

Where was this thread when I tried it!? Tried it late November, IIRC. Also, this ties right into the crackhead thread because of where my new campus is situated. Went to the Popeyes about 18 mins. away from campus. These bitches had a long ass line, but when they get to me (took fucking 15 mins.), they tell me that they're only accepting cash. I was like, fuck me, they could've yelled it out. Anyways, went to the Taco Bell next to it, and the lady that took my order was a legit crackhead. She was talking nonsense while I was ordering and talking to herself whilst cleaning. I go to the restroom, and she throws away my half-eaten food! I just leave, though. I don't think she was right in the head, and I'm sure making a fuss would be bad for both of us.

Anyways, I went back home, and I stopped at the Popeyes near my house. Holy shit, I was lucky that they didn't run out because it was like 8 or 9 at night. Anyways, I got a chicken sandwich, some fries, and a huge Coca-cola. That thing was fucking ridiculously good. Best chicken sandwich I've had in my life. I've had Chick-fil-a, and I don't think it compares. Chick-fil-a was honestly average. I instantly understood why Popeyes now has gigantic lines.

Doby is right that Popeyes just doesn't have the proper employees to be doing this. Every Popeyes I've been to has had horrible service, understaffed, and miserable ass employees. I've not been back since then, though.

I know a couple of people like that. It's a shame, because if you're going to be a meat eater then the best meat is almost entirely on the bone. Lamb shanks, lamb chops, pork knuckle, spare ribs etc. Steak is probably the best meat you can get that involves no bone, but even then a bone-in ribeye or sirloin is pretty great.

But I can see the issue. What about fish? Same?

jus5 about everyone in fucking Britain is like that, you were banned from eating meat off the bone ffs :rofl:nono

Yeah, it's way better than Chick-fil-a. I think that the wave has died down, though, and the hysteria is pretty much over with.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you referring to BSE in the 90's? Because the ban was solely on offal and beef on the bone, and most of the ban was imposed by other countries on UK exports.

Lamb, chicken, game etc were never banned, and in the UK the ban on beef on the bone lasted 2 years, running from December 1997 to December 1999.

The ban on beef was in place the pretty much the whole time I was in the UK
Not like I was tempted to eat much beef anyway given the exorbitant price
I seem to remember that even though the ban was in place for only a few years, it effected people far longer, not many people were all that keen to go on a T- Bone eating spree or eat any beef for that matter for a lot longer after the ban
there would have been many people that weren’t all that used to eating it

Yeah, I'm sure it had some residual effect, but the ban was 2 years... I've no idea how long you were there for, but it was evidently a vastly different place then, as you've previously mentioned that you couldn't find dim sum (or yum cha as you guys call it) and regardless, this thread is about chicken, and chicken on the bone has never been unusual, let alone banned.

The BSE issue was a blessing in disguise (no comfort for those who died of CJD) as the practices which led to it were the very worst elements of factory farming, and huge changes in practices, laws and attitudes came out of it.

Mind you, we'll probably abandon most of those to get a US trade deal now anyway.

I had one last week. It was good. KFC's Chicken Littles are still the best chicken sandwich around though. :bart
I don't understand people's love of KFC. I'm not one to be a hipster or a contrarian, whatever you want to call it, but KFC has to be consistently the worst chicken ever. I've tried it at least 5 times in my life, and each time I'm disappointed. I've tried the original and the crispy version.

The original has no crisp while the crispy has far too much breading. It's just tasteless to me. The chicken has very little flavor. Just not worth it at all when Church's and Popeye's make superior chicken. I keep going back rarely because I feel like I'm missing something. It's overly expensive and people swear on KFC, but it's just a horrible chicken to me.

Just jokes! But seriously, you have weird taste buds.
