I doubt it mate. I don’t think anyone is bothered enough.

Paulie didn’t embarrass boxing he embarrassed himself.
He attacked the MMA community and it's fans. Some of it was hype, but he meant what he said Paulie wears his heart on his sleeve. I think the fight will change him for the better. He'll probably stop talking about Conor from now on or at least he should.

Someone needs to change the thread title now, though. We'll be seeing in 2hrs if Paulie was sandbagging .
Yeah he was sandbagging. He looked a lot better than he did in the video.

I still felt Paulie won although like mentioned earlier, having a fight this close is a loss for boxing in general.

Nah I don’t think it’s a loss for Boxing mate, nobody in the world would pick Paulie to represent the sport in bare knuckle

He’s a washed up delusional idiot with a mouth on him and a brittle handed feather Fisted cunt to boot and everyone knows this

I genuinely don’t think anyone is arsed enough to gloat. I watched the fight it was horrific.

He needs to let the Conor thing go for his own fucking sanity if nothing else.

Bareknuckle boxing is not pro boxing but it is essencially Boxing only.

Paulie is a former top boxer in the divisions he fought, belt holder and competitive fights against world class opponents. And Lobov was an average MMA pro at his best.
This does make boxing in general look bad in comparison with MMA.

Nobody would want Lobov to represent MMA either. So... it is quite even in that regard.

Anyway, in reality, Lobov being younger counts and it is like I always said, differently than other fighting styles, Boxing in essencially a physical sport in comparison with others, especially the grappling arts.

If you are washed up and the other guy is better physically, it doesn´t really matter if you have better skills than him...

Nah I reckon there’s dozens of pros in their 40s who would beat a younger guy like Lobov just by sheer skill and technique.

I’d back Shane Mosley or Cotto someone like that to spark him out no problem.

Malignaggi is just a washed up delusional idiot with brittle feather fisted hands, he was always a terrible pick to do this.

Cotto, yes, of course.

Mosley ? I have my doubts. He looked horrific in his last 3, 4 fights.

I just don’t think a terrible fight which looked like 2 drunk blokes brawling outside a pub really helps either sport

Yeah. I meant to say you had a good point in saying that this is all on him and not the boxing world. I think Paulie did some growing up after the fight or he will during this week. He said it best when his friends and people we're telling him he was above this.

Paulie is a millionaire and maybe more with a restaurant and homes in New York and Florida. Artem has a lady and a young child his motivation must be through the roof. They are at different times of their lives and different tax brackets.

I think you underestimate how casual the MMA community is. They don't know shit outside of wrestling and BJJ
Who’s arsed about casuals though mate?

Anyone with a brain who follows either or both sports knows that Paulie wouldn’t be first choice to represent boxing likewise Artem for MMA.

A washed up ex boxer versus a MMA fighter with a losing record.... Was it ever going to matter what the result was? Is anyone that bothered?

The only people who lost are the people who were stupid enough to buy it, and considering how utterly terrible the fight was neither sports hardcore fan base has any reason to celebrate.

It’s best just forgotten.

Yeah it’s mad that he ever got involved. He’s embarrassed himself.

He was known as an ex world champion who fought some very good names and was a popular analyst.

Now he is literally known more for the McGregor sparring fiasco and losing to Artem than he is for his boxing career.

I don’t see it that way at all. Did you expect Paulie to light him up?

I genuinely couldn’t see this going any way other than a close decision to either fighter. Paulie was obviously a high calibre boxer, but he’s no longer even an active fighter, and was stepping in against someone younger and bigger in a ruleset completely alien to him.

I did think Pauli would edge it, but it was never going to be anything other than close.

MMA is much more popular here in the States, I'd say 90% of the following are "brain dead." The only ones I've met that actually know anything are the fighters and trainers I've met during sparring nights.

Paulie was just a name, his last decent performance was 6 years ago

Mate, Lobov is an average MMA fighter (at best), his striking is not great even for MMA standards. The guy doesn´t know what a jab is.(he has literally zero defensive skills, not to mention his very short reach... he is super tough though)
He has 3 knockout wins in 18 MMA fights (with those small gloves), if anything his hands are even softer than Paulies.

A former boxing champion, that was active 2 years ago, should beat a 13-15 record average MMA fighter in Boxing rules.

Some people are missing the point here that this was not Paulie vs some top MMA contender..

I mean, after last night, it´s fair to say that Al Iaquinta would ko Paulie. And puts it to rest the sparring session with Conor, now I have zero doubts that Conor dominated Paulie in that.
