Biggest shocker for me was Chris Leben getting beat by that Dakota guy. Leben got outsmarted, but he's been nothing short of a destroyer in bare knuckle. That Dakota dude is a smart fighter.

against an MMA fighter in his physical prime
Stop it.
Lobov is 33 and I bet his body is destroyed from the way he fights and especially because his last bareknuckle fight was what ? 3 months ago? And he was in horrible condition after that fight, I doubt he could train really well for this...

Lobov is a low level MMA fighter with 2 knockout wins in his career. Paulie should have outboxed him, at least. Although in reality, this fight shouldn´t draw so much attention like it did and it´s doing anyway...

It won´t finish Boxing as a sport or anything, of course not !
but it doesn´t look too good... it´s all. It will be forgotten soon..

Yeah, I saw like one or two Leben BKFC fights prior. He seemed like he was doing pretty well for this beer-league thing they have going. I mean no one involved in BKFC is at the height of either MMA or Boxing. Leben was making a good niche out of it since I think the dude just loves to fight (troubled past, IIRC). Been so long since I remember watching him on TUF.

I will say that casuals frame a lot of the narrative. It's sad, it's a joke, but it's pretty much the truth. I mean, ffs, how many people watch smear-merchants like Skip Bayless and Stephen A. compared to, I don't know, some CHB podcast that probably gets 100 viewers, if that.

This shit was a black-eye for boxing and made it look like a weak sport. BKFC is pretty much very close to meeting in the middle for both sports, without being Muy Thai or Kickboxing. I just hope it gets forgotten soon is all I can say.
