Maloney did something like "I'm offering Fury £x to fight Price but David's next fight is against Matt Skelton"

I think that was probably more Hennessy than Fury, either way he missed the chance to do a Thompson on him, should have took the fight.
You think Hennessy has any say on what Fury does? The guy is crazy, he does what he wants. He's also Hennessys star fighter and probably demands what he wants.

It's a fair comment, the guys nuts and I don't think he knows what he's doing half the time, it just seems odd that a traveller would duck someone, although he is mental as you say.

I read several times that it was £650,000. To be fair, that could be bullshit and none of us know for sure, but we do know that Fury vacated when Price was mandatory.
The Maloney offer was just the little man mouthing off....he couldn't afford to pay Fury £500,000. Fury vacated the title after Hennessy had put a £100,000 offer on the table for Price who turned it down preferring to go to purse bids. TV contracts got in the way of that fight, not either fighters willingness to face the other.

Regardless of offers, Fury blatantly ducked Price, he'd been calling Price out for about 3 years, as soon as it goes to purse bids he vacates the belt claiming he's moving onto bigger and better things.......a cab driver from Ireland.
It wasn't a duck....Hennessy offered Price £100k for the fight, Maloney acknowledges this. Fury vacated after it went to purse bids because the fight might well not have ended up on Channel 5 who Fury had a contract with.

Pretty sure it's Hennessy with the channel 5 contract, not Fury. Clearly a duck, in my opinion.

If it was a duck why did Hennessy offer Price £100k to fight his man before Fury vacated the belt? That makes no sense if there was no intention to fight.

But surely if thats true Fury has a contract with Hennesey? So it amounts to a contract having to be broken somewhere along the line? That said, 100,000 seems a bit "light" for Fury-Price so I'm not sure how genuine that offer was.

The fight would have been bigger then Degale-Groves by a distance 100k is a joke of an offer, Price got that for regular British title fights, according to Midget Maloney.

John Ryder has a contract with Eddie Hearn but he's still fighting on Boxnation.

Presumably because Hearn let him. Fury is a big fish in a small pond with Hennesey, I doubt Fat Mick can afford to look at things the same way as Hearn can with Ryder.

I hear what your saying but it's ultimately the fighters choice if he wants to take a fight.

....... according to Midget Maloney.
Well, those four words need to be looked at because I don't believe one word out of that racist piece of shits mouth :) ....I would bet that Price wasn't on anything close to 100k for a bog standard British defence.

I wouldn't dismiss it though, Price was a big name in the amateurs and they're we're a lot of promoters trying to sign him.

No dismiss it, theres no way David Price has made more than 100k for a fight.

Plus there was no rush to sign him, hence why Maloney who is generally last resort got him.

Pretty sure Hennesey was ready and made a legit offer to Maloney to do the fight on channel 5, Maloney said no and let it go to purse bids. Frank Warren was going to gazump both of them and put it on BoxNation which Hennesey didn't want to he vacated the title.

How do you know this Rob? Come on give me a ball park figure.
I very much doubt Price has made over 60k for a fight in his career. Obviously I haven't seen contracts but based on what we do know other fighters have made and Maloney typically being the lowest paying promoter, its highly unlikley Price has ever made close to 100k for a fight, especially when fighters like Ricky Burns & Nathan Cleverly are getting about 120k for world title fights.
