Austin Trout could be headed for 147 pounds

Nov 10, 2014
Austin Trout is struggling to get fights at 154 pounds and considering going down to 147 pounds.

Austin Trout: "I'm in the gym and everybody who I really want to fight is already doing something else, but I'm not picky. I just want to stay active, I need to be active to be at my best so I'm just trying to get busy. To be honest with you right now I'm seeing what I can do weight wise."

"I've been make changes to my diet and training to see if I can make 147 pounds. I feel like I can make the weight and be strong and if I'm right about that I would be a monster in that weight class."

"I've been making 154 much easier now than I was when I was 27 years old. I've upped the discipline across the board. I've been doing intermittent fasting. My daugher's made me a pescatarian, I don't hardly eat me anymore. With all these things in place I feel like I could make the weight and be strong so I'm definitely going to take a stab at it."

Wait, who does he want to fight that's busy? Maybe Tony Harrison won't be a bad fight.

He looked huge against Cotto at 154 and didnt he nearly weigh in rehydrated as much as Canelo at 154? He should go up to 160 but if he can make 147 go for it lol

He weighed around 170lbs vs Canelo. I don't think this is smart, but if he can do it healthy, then good for him. He won't be outsized vs the likes of Hurd, Charlo and Munguia.

Dude can't do 147 and has gotten plenty of big fights at 154. The hell is he talking about? If anything, he sounds like he is no longer interested in working his way back up the ranks.

He's going to drain away whatever is left of his career if he does this.

Making the weight and performing at that weight are two different things. On the flip side, Conor drops down by a significant amount and has done well
