Does anybody else remember when Ben & Apollo James Jackson were due to fight? I may have mentioned it already in the thread but it was truly a superb clash of narcissism probably only rivalled by the potential Froch v Groves 3. Apollo called out any of the British boxing journalists to a bout, or so many rounds of sparring, I can't remember which. Ben, naturally, stepped forward as a journalist boasting his Facebook page, looking to put him in his place. Unfortunately the bout never materialised, as it would be a great match of two of Britain's two biggest deluded boxing 'journalists' of the time. Both with a style of prancing around the ring flicking out some out of range slappy jabs.

Whatever happened to Apollo? I always crack up thinking about when he asked a question at the BN reveal press conference:

(Timestamped)

Along with Warren's "Just ask the question!", the look on everyone's face -- from Frankie laughing to Groves' blank expression -- makes it all the better.

We were only messing around for charity last night but even then I got a surreal glimpse of what it must have been like to fight this guy in his vintage.
I know why Benn and Eubank are said to have wanted no part of him.
Herol Bomber Graham is a total maverick. Talk to him about Boxing technique and he will turn everything you think you know on it's head. Step in the ring with him and he will show you what he means.
On the last tube home it was hard not to stand up and ask the assorted merry drunken revellers, 'Do you even know who you are sharing this carriage with...?'

Would've been superb to hear "Aye you owe me a grand for Brook tickets you bastard!" in response

Currently, I’ve written 15000 words of my book. Taking the average novel to consist of 60, 000 words, perhaps I am a quarter of the way through it.
I don’t know yet...
He will never release this book, deep down he knows nobody will buy it and he doesn’t want to face that reality. He will however talk about it non stop to sound important.

I have another ‘friend’ very similar to the doyen in terms of his absolute deluded delusions of grandeur.

He thinks he’s a gangster though and regularly talks about his street fighting days and how hard he is.... he’s very serious about writing his book about his gangster life.

I wonder if he will put the part where I used to have to walk him home because he was scared he was going to get filled in off some lad he side banged on a night out.

These type of people are dicks

Is that who you are talking about when referring to Manz?
