I've listened to one or two in the past, they're pretty good, miles better than the yank shite. But I have one question... Do they still do Bellew of the Week?

Listened to these a few times however, I really can't take to them.

As someone that has never listened to it, what's the appeal?
The knowledge of all the contributors. Steve Wellings is absolutely flawless. Andy Paterson is ridiculously in touch with the fight game. US contributors are fucking brilliant on there too.

There's also a good mix of the fight game and humour too. It's by far my favourite podcast bar none.

Tris Dixon next.

They're boxing nerds basically. Its been going that long they've got into a good groove and the host is really good at handling things and keeping a good pace.

Its knowledge and opinion dropped and is a verbal form of reading a forum basically - its no white knuckle ride and is essentially 5 blokes talking boxing from their spare rooms but its just trickles along nicelyas background noise. They really dislike Hearn and don't seem objective tbh but thats most 'hardcore' boxing fans as its cool to dislike the main man.

Just idle chat about the week that was and the week ahead and taking the piss about idiots who embarrass themselves on Bellew of the week.

They have a wide range of guests and normally lads from the small hall scene with odd people like Lucas Browne, Steve Wood, John Ryder more well known. The interviews always feel a little rushed to me though and can tell the host is just reading boxrec.

It's not perfect but its free content from lads doing it from a passion knowing it will never be more than a few 1000 people listening.

Don't listen expecting anything hilarious mind. They're just lads talking bollocks so there are odd funny moments but nothing that has me proper lol'ing. Often the best funny bits of unintentional like when the nerdy american lad talked to a ringcard girl and you could feel his sweaty palms through the podcast

Excellent post Tom.

The pull for me (no homo) re: Nuthouse is Steve Wellings and Andy Paterson. Steve is ridiculously well read, Andy as well. They mix this in with a cocktail of laughs, piss taking and general good talk. The American lads are sound too and can all hold their own in terms of boxing knowledge. There's one of the English fellas on there who is a smug vastly over-opinionated cunt and whose name I won't mention.

It's gotten way way better since Steve has taken over, far more structure and it feels less "hate on Matchroom" than it did 3 years ago. Balanced but still with the humour. It's the best podcast by a fucking mile.

I do wish they had more pull to get better guests though.. it's a drag listening to some bloke whos 5-0 talk about how he just having a go and providing for his family. I suppose its hard to get higher profile guests without promising a bias though. Hearn and Kugan were on there years ago but I suppose theyre too big time now.

i gave up because it was so negative, not just to matchroom, but in general. will give it another go.
theres a lad from chorley whos a bit doom and gloom at times but knows his stuff and nice enough lad.

the host andy p have a bit of matchroom hate but isnt just mindless. the irish lad though hates Hearn and AJ and it seeths through him, offering him out for charity as he said something in passing on ifl that could have been vagely pointed towards them
