Huge jump up for Buatsi. And shows up Yarde's pathetic career progression perfectly. Buatsi will be fighting for the British title (against a guy who just floored Beterbiev before coming up short at world title level) in his 9th pro bout, having been pro for 18 months. Yarde will be having his 18th pro bout, after being pro for 3.5 years against some fucking nobody, with his best win a year ago.

Johnson should stay at world level and vacant the belt if you ask me. Let Buatsi fight burton for the belt and Yarde will say he's at world level fighting nobodies.

Although he should be commended for his efforts at world level he still has plenty to learn and coming back down a level isn't going to hurt him. I'd argue that trying to stay in with the big boys of the division will hurt him more at this point of his career

As for this one I would slightly lean to buatsi by decision if he's as good as people are thinking. Would be good to see regardless of the result anyway. Also strike is correct that this shows up yarde.

I don't mean fight Bivol or the champs just stay around world level. He proved himself against one of the best in the division. Have 2/3 learning fights at world level and then go ahead. Fighting Buatsi does nothing for him.

I think theres been a lot of to and fro between Yarde and Buatsi,so though I don't always like prospects fighting too early,I don't see why that couldn't or shouldn't be made soon. Neither has beat anywhere near a world class light heavy. Neither has Johnson for that matter, but he DID beat a Euro level one in Buglioni, and put in a good world title challenge. So whether he would actually beat either at this point is immaterial for me. If he fought Averlant next it would be forgivable, but his next one ought to be one far better.

He's shown he's got ability, maybe more than people expected. I just think putting him in with solid British or even European level guys will be more beneficial at this time. Maybe try and go back to world level fighters in 12 to 18 months. Plenty to learn and plenty of time for him to do it.

Yeah but Buatsi is a Olympian and Yarde couldn't even win a aba novices. Never going to be matched at the same rate.

Aye, but you get the point. We've seen Okolie moved way faster, and sure he was an Olympian, but he was a fucking novice when he went, and he's not very good technically now. But he got pushed along. Dubois has just fought Johnson, and he's no Olympian.

Yarde's matchmaking is awful.

2bh mate I am looking forward to when Yarde gets exsposed just to hear the shit Tunde comes out with.

I can't give him any ratings until I see him in with a genuine big 175lb fighter and not a small fat 168lber who should of probably have been at 160.

Hope this happens.

This is exactly the calibre of fight you want for the British title. Feels like it's been ages since there's been a fight of that quality for a Lonsdale belt

Completely agree. I think it's a shame that so many people look at the British as a lesser title than these stupid belts by all the varying organisations. Sorry to mention him again but yarde is a prime example, carrying god only knows what variation of the wbo title and saying he's beyond British level.... embarrassing.

If I were Callum, Yarde or Buatsi, I wouldn't be looking at the other 2.
Buglioni is the man I'd be looking at.
A good solid test, popular and sells well. Still rated at least domestic level, or as you say maybe Euro level.

is there any suspicion that yarde got chin issues?
Loads of people have suspicions, based on who he has fought. I don't really bother making assumptions about fighters in that way, but it is noticeable that he fights blown up super middles without pop at the lower weight, while he looks like a cruiser.

whats also funny is his height has been changed on various sites from 5'9" to 6'. history has shown that bodybuilder boxers dont tend to do too well in the later rounds once they make the step up in class and cant just blow people away.

possible chin issues with highly likely stamina issues is not a good combo. just speculation, but what we do know for a fact is hes fighting absolutely bollocks opposition.

Cant see him being five nine Raymann. If he was his last opponent was five foot four.
