I think Canelo stops him & I think it’ll be a lot earlier than many expect. Wasn’t impressed with how easily Ryder backed Smith up & hurt him. It’s hard to see Smith suddenly looking revitalised at the weight when he’s not fought for a year. I’ll go Canelo round 4 KO

Anybody have any idea what weight Callum walks around out?

He appears to live the life, but is also huge at 168. 5 weeks isn't long for a camp of this magnitude.
Went through a load of articles, and could not find a single article asking Callum Smiths walk around weight.
Boxing Journalism has gone to the dogs.

Usually the question is something like : " Callum how difficult is it making weight".

Smith: ". Its not difficult at all"

Same question to Joe Gallagher.

Joes response :"Callum Easily makes weight thats not a problem he is always in the gym."

As for the Youtube interviews.
Given most of the interviews with both of them have been on IFL TV. And Kugan Cassius.. I dont know if Kugan has ever asked about weight making. Given that he dont know Jack about boxing I highly doubt it. He just knows how to kiss Hearns butt.

In anycase Maximum respect for Canelo in taking this fight. It is a dangerous fight.
That size and reach difference could make it a difficult night for ginger.

Callum Smith blows hot and cold. Some fights he has looked very good. In others he has just gone through the motions.

I hope Canelos team are preparing for the Callum Smith that fought George Groves. And not the lethargic one that fought John Ryder.

Otherwise Team Canelo could be in for a rude awakening.

Canelo has been training for months. Has Callum too? With only 4 weeks to go (5 minus a week tapering off) I hope he has.
Of course he'll take the fight for the money and I can't blame him but it sounds like another uncompetitive fight for Canelo (and us fans). I hope I'm wrong.

I'm with you.

Canelo's most probably even going to enforce a rehydration clause.

Regardless of how the fight goes it is a dangerous one for Canelo. Credit to him for taking it, prior to the ryder fight everyone had Smith as the man at 168. He had a bad performance against ryder but it doesn't make him a bad fighter, that just happens in sports.

Really wish this was in late January. Hopefully there is no catch-weight, rehydration clause, or other bs.

But as I said in the Alvarez vs Plant thread, I like this fight more than vs Plant or Yildirim.

Coz F that!

Canelo deserves his props for fighting the bigger guy but dont drain him with rehydration clauses.

Make Smith weigh in officially at 168 than level him be.

You wanna be a super middle weight then fight a super middleweight.
I suppose you could conversley say. If Smith wants to be a Cruiserweight at fight time. Then he should go and fight at Cruiserweight. Instead of being a weight bully.

I cant see the point of having a weigh in for a particular weightclass. Then one guy weighing in 20lbs heavier then the other at fight time. How is that fair.?

Hydration clauses should probably be made compulsory at all weights. That way guys fight at their natural weight. No more unfair disadvantages.

Plus hydration clauses apply to both fighters.

Maybe so. I can't say I disagree with that overall.

But as is.. rehydrating and putting extra weight on is within the official rule books so Canelo should operate within them.

Err, Canelo approached him. Total bitch move to ask someone to fight only to handicap your opponent. He even imposed it on a shot Kovalev who went life and death with Yarde a mere 8-weeks before their fight. Tried to keep it secret too

How do you even live with yourself after asking that? The man really has no pride :rofl Either you take a/the challenge or you don't.
You think welterweight Harry Greb imposed rehydration clauses when he fought and beat light-heavy and heavyweights?
