@Jay I would like the apply for the position of moderator.

Who am I?

I am ura, named after the Bleach anime character Urahara Kisuke. Bleach is about Soul Reapers who fight and purge evil souls called Hollows. Bleach is a B level anime, about a 7/10.

In real life I am from the South of England, but my parents were from foreign countries. This makes me;
-cultured
-a minority
-worldly
-lactose intolerant
-intolerant of Spaniards

What are my interests?

I have an extensive knowledge of Formula 1, boxing, video games, fantasy books, music, women, anime, films and that's about it.

I recently won the CHB/OTH fantasy F1 league which proves my elite knowledge. Plus I've been watching it since I was a kid.

As for boxing, I started watching over 20 years ago and can post about all the greats, from Mitch "the fighting boy" Mitchenson to Julio Rodriguez Ramirez.

For films, I studied it at University and was top of my year. For a while, anyway. I regularly write film reviews on both OTH and MovieChat.org but I'll sack both off and move over here for the chance to be an internet tough guy moderator. I want a fancy looking name and the power and respect that comes with it.

What can I offer?

I will moderate based on this; posters must keep to the topic at hand. Going a bit off topic is fine. If it gets excessively spammy, I'll clean up the posts a bit and give a gentle reminder to keep on topic and stop being so gay.

I will structure the forums with more "Official.." threads to keep things organised. Only a little though as posters are allowed to make whatever topic they like.

I will make a new F1 thread in preparation for the new season and post about the more technical side of the cars (like Ferrari's new engine and the ramifications on downforce levels and relative performance hierarchy from the new floor regulations), a new anime thread, more boxing threads like "My argument for why Wilder is a p4p fighter (serious)" and monthly "Poster Spotlight.." threads where I will pick a random poster to make a thread about, shining light on them and their contributions to the forum plus general critiques/advice.

Finally, I'll run a chess tournament thread where we'll pit various posters against eachother in an 8/16 man tournament.

Thank you for reading Jay.

ps. even if my application is unsuccessful, you may still use the ideas I just presented. However know that I'd do it better than whoever replaces me.

As your moderator I wouldn't even remove this predictably low effort, crass and unimaginative response.

I am not offended one bit.

@ura do you even ride?
As moderator I will read, listen and respond to all posts directed at me and my team. Even posts I don't quite understand like this one.

To answer your question no I do not "ride". I rode a horse once when I was a child at my friend's birthday party. We ate jelly after.

I rode on the back of a motorbike in Thailand with my mate with me years ago when travelling. We arrived in a town at midnight with rain heavily falling, both of us lost looking but not finding the place we needed to stay at. Two local lads rode up and offered to take us there.

WIth both of us too tired to think of an alternative, both apprehensive about who these two are plus the added danger of riding on motorbikes with no helmet in heavy rain at midnight with massive travelling bags on our backs, we said yes please.

It was a bit sketchy when we started overtaking other cars at speed and when they took us down alley ways....

But we eventually ended up at the hotel. Relieved we were't raped, or worse, robbed, we offered the lads some English money but they politely refused.

It's a memory that has stuck with me. Poignant in the selfless behaviour of these two gay boys to total strangers, poignant in the lack of wisdom shown by my friend and I to accept the offer in the first place in such treacherous and possibly dangerous conditions.

Thank you for the question Quadrophenia. Hope you enjoyed reading it as I enjoyed recalling it and telling it.

The most compelling application I've had in years. To the point I'm actually considering this. I will review, consider and discuss with fellow staff members with a view to getting back to you later today.

I think I'd make a pretty good mod to be honest.

I would however allow cyber rape gangs to roam the Lounge freely.

At the risk of the rather embarrassing outcome of me now being rejected by both sites as a consequence of my attempted defection (not that OTH would notice since I barely even post), here are some more of my relevant accolades;

OTH boxing's funniest post of the year 2019 as voted by the members (my trail video, sorry trail haha but we can all laugh about it now though)
OTH boxing's funniest poster of the year 2019
OTH boxing's funniest poster of the year 2020

Plus behind my silly posting style, cos I just want to have fun online, I'm rather level headed in my approach and I'm a member of mutliple forums with varying levels of moderation. Autosport for instance is much more moderated than here or OTH and it has benefits and drawbacks to it. I'm not a fan of their moderation. Plus I keep getting warnings.

I never really talk politics as I don't care to. Last time I did I predicted Trump would win the recent election but I didn't take into account that the cast of Night of the Living Dead apparantly cast their votes for President Biden.

I am laid back about politically incorrect language, obviously, but I know when racial banter crosses the line into something nasty. I have more experience with this having grown up around these issues so I'm not histrionic, dictatorial or preachy with racial stuff. I'm also most likely a massive hypocrite as I regularly use offensive stereotypes but recognising flaws and subsequently fixing them are two different things and it hurts my brain.

And finally, as you can see by this thread I'm very open and forthcoming so the people would appreciate my patient, listening ear.

In the words of the famous and unforgettable boxing hall of fame referee Steve Smoger;

"I'm firm but I'm fair. Let's get ready to rumble"

Yeah but how big is your cock?

We have a minimum 8" requirement here and of course you need to have a supercar and supermodel in your collection.
