Is this your opinion or do you have a citation?
A citation for people getting setup by the police, are you being serious here or just being awkward?

I mean if you are being serious there are several high profile cases you can watch on youtube or different cases you can read about as well as many stories from people across the nation.

I struggle to believe that you find this hard to believe.

I have her on my list.....

In the event of Biden's likely victory, she's on my list of people who I will make it a priority to listen to after the results to enjoy their bitching, especially if it's a blowout, I'm not saying these are all the worst as far as people or commentators but they are among the worst and will be less likely to contain their emotions and will be entertaining to watch

  1. Sean Hannity
  2. Laura Ingraham

Historical context and trends.

Police were always persecutors of black people. From way back after the abolishment of slavery, thru the prohibition era, world war II, civil rights era in the 60s, numerous police scandals from the 70's and 80's that took until the 1990s to be reported by media. DNA exonerating numerous people on death row or serving long sentences.

Why would the average black person have any reason to "back the blue"?

Pointing to the few and far between shills of Candace Owens ilk is little different than pointing at the house negro singing their masters praises and then questioning why black people weren't content with slavery.

"Racism doesn't exist" She's repeatedly claimed she's never experienced racism. Yet she sued her school for race discrimination and won.
She has never said that there are not racists out there.

I'm sure people have been setup by the police before, white and black, but I'm just trying to get a feeling for how prevalent you and Icemann think this is.

Does this alone account for the incarceration rates? If this is a fairly rare phenomenon then it seems strange to focus in on it, that's all.

Is the pattern political bullshitters who will be fun to listen to in post election meltdown?
I suspect it won't be quite as hysterical as what we saw 4 years ago.

But I'm sure we are going to find out, because Biden looks to have this one all wrapped up.

What pattern are you talking about then?

I'm not sure why it needs to be compared to four years ago either, are you a Trump fan or something? Shouldn't be difficult to laugh at anyone who is such a bullshitter turn hysterical.

Especially people like Shapiro who id also add to that list.

They are virtually all Fox News contributors and I have seen Yank reference his disdain for Tim Pool on numerous occasions.

I think it is natural to compare an expected political meltdown to the last one, which was probably the most hysterical in all of political history. I don't mind Trump but calling me a fan is a little strong. I'm exhausted with the discussion being dominated by him though, so I'm perfectly okay with Biden winning the election. I suspect a number of people feel similar which wouldn't have helped Trump's bid at all.

Especially people like Shapiro who id also add to that list.
Ben Shapiro will be a wasted slot. I'm sure the two of you disagree fiercely on nearly everything politically, but he has actually been appropriately critical of Trump throughout the last 4 years. He didn't have a lot of nice things to say about him from the first debate either, whereas most of the people on Bal's list are partisan to the core. Especially Hannity. No, Shapiro probably won't have a meltdown if Biden wins the election because he partly expects it and he has no loyalty to Trump.

You don't mind Trump? That's brilliant, I don't think I've heard anyone comment on him with such neutrality

What is it about either his personality or political beliefs that you don't mind, are you a fan of his policies, his intelligence or lack thereof, the way he handles himself etc what is it?

Nah Ben would serve the spot well, he might not be a huge fan of Trump but I can guarantee he will increase his production of bullshit tenfold as soon as the democrats are in Government. You will get meltdowns, he will go to the campuses and attack the SJW's, probably not debate anyone of note and still peddle right wing propaganda whilst yes, still remaining an intelligent guy in his own right.

I think it is his hair piece mainly. But I think he deserves credit for helping give birth to Ivanka too. Jesus!

I suppose he will likely hold the new administration to account more than he has done over the course of the last 4 years, that's true. He may also write another best seller though, and I fully expect his company to rise to 3 million subscribers during a Democratic government. His wife will still be a doctor obviously.

So you're not willing to give an serious thoughts on why you don't mind him or what you like about his politics or personality? interesting that one.

I didn't say Shapiro would just hold the Government to account more than ever, I said he'd have several meltdowns and parrot more ridiculous propaganda that would be easily refuted if he ever said it in the presence of someone worthy of debating him. As for best seller, I think Katie Price had a few of those, as well as a very popular TV show, probably has a youtube page as well :good

In the world we live in today, with such a high percentage of people who are not politically educated or rational(citation?), I'm not sure jumping to sales statistics and popularity is a good angle to come from in defending your man. I'd be happy to point out his bullshit if it helped clear things up.

This is a bit bizarre. I tell you I don't mind Trump, which is a stone's throw away from indifference, and then I get the third degree?

I think it's possible to articulate your disapproval of Ben Shapiro without making an equivalence between him penning a best seller to Katie Price's ghost writer penning one.

I just think your summary was overly selective. I was just trying to help fill it out a bit.

By all means, point out Ben Shapiro's bullshit. The floor is yours.

Trump is very much a love or hate character, this forum alone is a pretty good indication of that but it's pretty well known and obvious why, that's who he is. I don't think it's bizarre at all to ask a genuine question about why you 'don't mind him'

Oh it's certainly possible to articulate my disapproval of Ben Shapiro without equating to Kate Price, but when you choose to defend Ben Shapiro by highlighting sales figures of his book and how many subscribers he has on Youtube as if that is anyway relevant to his prevalence for bullshit, you're setting your self up and dictating the tone of the conversation.

You're a strange guy man, you said you don't mind Trump, I ask why and then it's just smoke and mirrors

Call me shallow, but I already answered that question.

Yeah you answered it in jest, I was asking on a more serious tone, though not that much more serious. You said you don't mind Trump, I'm asking why that is in reference to his policies and personality, it's not that hard of a question is it?

Hilariously, I've actually already edited out the word 'debate' from my post because I knew your defense mechanisms would trigger and you'd freak out a little bit. It now says conversation, specifically the one in regards to Ben Shapiro that we are having :good

What are your general opinions on Trump pertaining to his policies and general character?

Don't worry, I'm not going to try and own you or anything, just interested given it's a fairly unique position.

The tree outside GABBY'S room
41% of Black Americans say the experience wasn't positive overall, 21% of White Americans say the same.

Whilst there is a disparity, it probably doesn't help that a lot of Black Americans seem to be predisposed to the idea that police officers are out to get them and this probably isn't conducive to having positive interactions.
they are predisposed to the idea because historical precedent clearly establishes that as fact. Not speculation on a hypothetical boogie man.

In either case, I don't think this poll contradicts the idea that the police help black people far more than they hurt them. Ultimately if you are having to interact with the police in the first place, it probably isn't because you are operating within the confines of the law.
That's an optimistic way of looking at it.

2 or 3 out of 10 compared to virtually half, and that's regardless of what initiated the contact. Whether it be a traffic stop or an officer just standing around outside a sporting event to act as a crime deterrent.

You think police are rounding up innocence black people just going about their day?
Entire police precincts have been blatantly caught doing it.

So it's not the random rogue one off cop or pair of dirty partners making the rest of the department look bad, is it?

We will have to agree to disagree on the idea of my supposed 'defence mechanisms' but I think you were correct to change the wording from 'debate' to 'conversation'. If only because we haven't actually been debating. It's just a matter of being correct, something you are usually a stickler for.

What are your general opinions on Trump pertaining to his policies and general character?

Don't worry, I'm not going to try and own you or anything, just interested given it's a fairly unique position.
It's honestly not a unique view. You can count the amount of posters here who wilfully engage in Trump discussions on maybe two hands. I think it would be logical to assume that the other posters don't engage in the debate simply because they don't really care and have other priorities in life. Now granted, I do engage sometimes on these matters but it is primarily to troll Haggis, who bites with impressive frequency.

I don't think we should be hard on Donnie. He applied for a job for a laugh, not expecting to get it, and he got it. So he has done what anyone else would do in that situation and tried to wing it best he could without being found out. I honestly see his position as being more symbolic than anything else anyway.

You're usually more clinical than this, TFG.
