Yeah, total guess but I reckon he wants yildrim at his usual fee and DAZN are saying no.

I don't blame them, (Yildrim is a shocking fight), but it will depend on the details of the contract.
Yes Yildrim of course is unacceptable but what was it, an 11-fight deal right with a 300m+ guarantee? Seems to me DAZN didn't think it through properly because what did they want him to fight GGG 11 more times? Who here can name 11 opponents that are elite level for Canelo? Or even 9 since he's already beaten Jacobs and Kovalev since he signed, that leaves 9 more, who are they?

Keep in mind that anyone he fights would also have to be willing to sign with DAZN, or at least not already be tied down to a TV contract.

Anyone would be better than Yildrim. Smith or BJS would be the best bet, but they need to accept terms.

I reckon Canelo vs. Yildrim still does big numbers for DAZN.
Anything with Canelo attached draws eyeballs...
Canelo is one of the few fighters who has a lot of really loyal fans who would pay to watch him fight anyone.

The yildrim fight is a joke though. He looked levels below Eubank, who looked levels below Groves, who's corpse was smashed by Smith. He's a terrible mandatory.

I'd like Ryder to get the fight if I'm honest.

DAZN would be better served just getting him back in the ring as quickly (and as frequently) as possible, instead of keeping him sidelined while they try to set up a single big "megafight." It's like they're saving him for one big fight that they're hoping will solve all their financial woes at once.

Let's not forget this guy jumped all the way up to LHW in his last fight for them.

I notice in Canelo's lawsuit he requests declaratory relief and seeks the right to "participate in bouts arranged and promoted by entities other than Golden Boy and broadcast by entities other than DAZN."

If successful, Canelo could be fighting under completely different banners before long.

It looks like DAZN were looking to turn Canelo into a circus attraction and it hasn't exactly endeared them to him.

Broadcasting giants DAZN 'targeted UFC champ Khabib' as opponent in negotiations over $365million deal with boxing star Canelo

Canelo's lawsuit has been dismissed on a technicality. However, it only looks like a temporary hiccup :

SEPTEMBER 11th UPDATE: Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's $280 million lawsuit against DAZN and Golden Boy was dismissed on a technicality by United States District Judge Percy Anderson in California. The issue is that Alvarez's attorneys named the defendants as if they were corporations, when they are actually limited liability companies. When filing a federal lawsuit, and no federal laws are involved, a complaint must allege where the owners of the limited liability companies are located. The court's dismissal will likely mean that the case will be delayed by only a few days, and Alvarez has until September 28th to correct his complaint with no further repercussions.

Well, all the errors in the complaint make it seem a bit more plausible Canelo actually accidentally ingested Clenbuterol, the man doesn't check things and I guess follows the US government's lead, hiring the lowest bidder.

Did Canelo hire Charlie Day as his fucking lawyer? How the fuck does that happen when you're suing for that much money.

Oscar De La Hoya is hopeful this break in precedings might provide the chance for an out of court solution.

“While yesterday’s order does not end the case, we are hopeful that this error will allow us to reset, and refocus on what’s important – working together to get Canelo back in the ring against a top opponent ASAP."

Showtime's Stephen Espinoza says that If Canelo becomes available, they will be 'very aggressive' in trying to sign him.

Canelo obviously in a very strong position in all of this.

But wait. There's more.

https://sports.yahoo.com/making-the-rounds-canelo-alvarezs-case-vs-golden-boy-dazn-isnt-going-away-181859759.html

The suit alleges De La Hoya gave the final right to approve Alvarez’s opponents to both Alvarez and DAZN. Alvarez had that right in his Oct. 17 agreement he signed with Golden Boy, but the suit alleges DAZN acquired that right in its deal with Golden Boy that was finalized on Oct. 11 in exchange for the right to broadcast Alvarez’s fights.

Sources said Alvarez was furious when he discovered that, and the DAZN deal nearly fell apart at the last minute. According to his suit, “Notably, the Alvarez Contract did not mention that DAZN would have any right to accept or reject any opponents selected by Alvarez.”

That’s when the second, even more astounding allegation comes in. Paragraph 31 of Alvarez’s original lawsuit notes that De La Hoya personally guaranteed liability for DAZN’s payments to Alvarez.

Thus, De La Hoya could potentially be on the hook for the $280 million Alvarez is seeking in the suit.

It is more than a week now since the court dismissed Canelo lawsuit suit. The adjustments required to his suit were minor yet they haven't returned to court yet. Seems likely there is some fairly frantic out of court negotiation taking place right now.

As expected, Canelo, DAZN and Golden Boy have been negotiating out of court.

Read that DAZN have put a reduced offer to Canelo based on $20 million per fight plus extras based on the number of paying subscribers.

Canelo not enthralled with the $20 million per fight plus extras offer then?
