I just want a good movie, not seen it yet. Heard it is alright, not in the same bracket as Guardians or Infinity War but still worth a watch if you've seen the rest of the movies.
It's a good movie. Not great. Guardians of the Galaxy is a great flick. It's not on that level but it's still good. If you go in and aren't just trying to be a dick because Brie Larson is fighting a bunch of bad guys to "I'm Just a Girl" by No Doubt then you'll get some entertainment value. There's some good comic moments in there.

This shit is just dumb.

There's so much more to her backstory. Physically abusive, emotionally abusive, and controlling father. Losing a brother to alcoholism. Unresolved issues because of her upbringing and the lack of communication about it between her and her still living mother. There's a lot of shit. She's a character that people can relate to.

That is if you get past the fact that it's a her and not him, because that's still an issue for some folks apparently.

I

I like that song.

I've watched all kinds of propaganda pieces in my time. If its a good film its a good film, thats all that matters.

I think it's a given that any man that watches this is going to be a cuck to start with. He's probably been dragged there by his 'better half'.

Watching women running around 'kicking ass' just looks fucking stupid.

y'all are dumb. I guess if you haven't read the comics then you don't know the history. Again, she's been around forever. My daughter and I have read every single Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel comic there is.

Captain Marvel is Earth's Mightiest Hero. She always has been. She put Iron Man in a fucking coma for fuck's sake. She plays a pivotal role in Captain America and the whole Hydra and taking over the world shit. I dunno, you guys that are tripping because "meh girls" are being weird. Flick was good. At least for me. Not my favorite Marvel movie, but it was still a good show.
What a bunch of fucking horse shit, everybody knows that Earth's Mightiest Hero is Kevin Bacon.

Honestly I think the thing most people have a problem is that with our current politically correct and multi-gender explosion society the blatant gender appropriation of roles are totally one-sided. We'll never, ever see a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Man because of the obvious backlash it would generate yet females get a free pass. I can almost guarantee you that way to remedy this is to stop appropriating male characters and create new female characters. But too many vaginas will bleed out if anyone in Hollywood suggested this so meh.

Yeah and it goes for race too. I watched Black Panther a couple of weeks ago and thought it was fairly run of the mill. Wasn't the worst superhero film I've seen but it's not close to being amongst what I'd consider the best. The villain was alright because he wasn't just evil for the sake of it.

Anyway what I'm saying is that if I were black I'd find it fuckin insulting that they deliberately forced it down people's throats and if you didn't like it you were a racist. It's not worthy of a best picture nomination and some of the other awards it won or got nominated for.

Also these cunts like LGBT rights speakers are just as bad and have as big an agenda as the people who can't stand them. I remember reading that one of these groups started a petition demanding Wonder Woman be made a lesbian in the next film. Why? If this stuff isn't an issue anymore why are these pricks trying to force sexuality change.

I don't know but a lot of these characters were probably created by people who wanted the character to represent them in a way. What's stopping the gay people from creating their own instead of trying to force change for established characters that have been around for fucking decades.

Let me toss my two cents into this whole 'gender war' thing,if I may

For some weird reason,Hollywood and the media have become convinced that the only kind of 'strong female character' that's acceptable is essentially a male woman............as if physical strength, for example,is the only way to portray 'strength' and thus women must be as physically strong,or stronger, than men...........

In a movie like this its less egregious because,of course, its 'magic' that's behind the 'strength'.............

They seem to have forgotten that a female character can be a female AND a 'strong lead'..............

Trying to erase all actual gender differences in the fictional worlds of movies or TV or whatever isnt the answer to a perceived need for more 'equality'.............

BTW............in ACTUAL LIFE............what gender do yall suppose is responsible for the majority of 'heroic' actions? You know, like running into a burning building to save a kid,or punching a gator in the face to rescue a kitty cat or whatever...................so,above and beyond the fact that comics and 'superheros' are generally a male interest, whats wrong with the fact that superheros, like real heros, tend to be male?

Anyway...............looks like a rather shit CGI fest,Red Letter didnt really like it and Im so burnt on superhero movies I could easily go the rest of my life without another..................or,at least until they do something DIFFERENT again.............like Watchmen, for instance.............

Video games are going this way too. Just look at the Battlefield series. They're producing games about World War I and World War II that have the cover art as women soldiers. Like elite women foot soldiers. I know historically that there were women who fought in battalions in WW1 and WW2 but the marketing and promotion is representing them as the majority which in fact it was a tiny minority. You have to do what you have to do to make money and bring new player blood in but it's still a mass misrepresentation.

I honestly cant imagine much interest among women in a WWI shooter,no mater how many women they try and cram into the game..........

Nobody cares that the lead is female. People don't like being preached to. Wonder woman was a female lead and a huge success, shit you can go back 15 years when Kate Beckinsale did underworld. People have always been ok with female leads. It's when it's forced and preachy that people have an issue with it. Brie Larson has gone out of her way to shit on white males through the promotion of this film.

The other issue people have is that she is supposed to be the answer to Thanos. If she just comes in and fucks Thanos up after actual gods that cam summon lighting weren't able to it'll take a big dump on the whole franchise.
So then part of the problem is that she's too late in the game. The other characters have been putting in work for a decade, kicking ass and getting their asses kicked. If Captain Marvel had been alongside them throughout and going through the same struggles, it wouldn't seem as if she was showing up to nerf the storyline that had been built over such a long period of time.

That's part of it. Endgame has been built up over a decade and like 10 movies. If she comes in at the end and just fucks everything up it'll piss people off.

The other part is that they're shoving it in your face that she's female, that a girl can kick your ass and that men are evil. When Uma Thurman did kill bill she was a lead that just happened to be a woman. In this case it's basically that she's a lead and the strongest character in the MCU because she's a woman
