I've decided that now is a good time to get fit - we're just about to start the second half of 2012.

This:

To this:

And back to this:

That was done over 52 weeks (the fat photo was week 26), so half a year to get from fat to fit :yep

Is anyone into doing this - posting up daily/weekly photo's (your choice) of your progress, keeping a blog maybe - and using the collective advice/motivation on here to achieving your goals?

I'm going to do this because this makes me accountable and possibly forces me to keep going instead of my inevitable slacking off.

I'm going to start tomorrow (Sunday) as 'Day 1' - so get involved now. This is a great opportunity to get fit and in shape, and use this place as both motivation, and obligation to keep going.

EDIT!!! The above is just an example of what can be done within 26 weeks, I'm not suggesting getting fat first to get fit again...

I've been training on and off for a few years. I'm on a decent program at the minute and in decent shape but yesterday I took delivery of 5 kg of protein and a kg of creatine so I'm aiming to absolutely smash the gym over the next 2 months for my jollies at the end of August. I'll post my stats and training when I get on a computer.

Well I was about to restart training from Monday after I have had a relaxing weekend. Had a few stressful months of late with my son having to have operations and just completely stopped training and went on a junk food binge.

Think i'll do a week or two of heavy cardio to get my fitness up first and then delve into weights and such. Never have much of a problem with motivating myself to exercise but more cutting down my diet and the beverages.

Why would you make yourself fat? :huh

Can't be good for you in the long term and it looks in the fat photo he's lost muscle mass as well.

??

What's stupid?
I think he thinks your suggesting we all get fat before we get fit. I assume you're not and just used that link as an example of how quickly a change can take place. I like the idea of a training log with some banter between us all.

No... Like I said - we're starting from week 26. The fat photo.

The idea is - that even someone in that shape can get into the shape of the first/last photo within half a year - which is perfectly timed for tomorrow.

I just think the banter/logs/photo's etc. it's great motivation to keep going. And then maybe do a few polls on the most improved, the best overall shape etc.

your an idiot if you think most people on here can get in that shape in just a year, I'm pretty fit and healthy now and not a chance I could reach that in a year. Not naturally anyway so unless your thinking of sticking everyone with roids then you should aim for something more realistic.

Again I've assumed he just used that as a motivation thing. Gains like that in that time would take 24/7 dedication ( and as you say, quite possibly medication).
A training log like Mr Smalls thread on ESB would be good though.

I'm 135 kg I should be 85 kg (I was about 83 kg when I went to boxing training in my younger days). Gained maybe 40 kg over 2 years due to medication but that has stopped since I only take half the previous dose now. I'm 38 y/o and I always gained and lost weight rather easily. In the army it was a advantage because I could burn fat effectively but when you get older and aren't so physically active anymore some complications like an injury or illness really sets me back fast if I don't count every calorie
