China has just successfully landed a probe on the dark side of the moon.

Yeah there's a literal black hole that sucks in finances in most US industries. Particularly the space and defence ones by comparison. The F22 program is a perfect example.
The F-35 certainly has.

Good call. How that inflated so much I'll never know.

Governor: "So the price quadrupled for reasons unknown to you?"

General: "Well we didn't factor in the cost of the engines properly."

Governor: "Well how did you make such a large mistake"

General: "Well we had an intern do our maths on the finances. Didn't work out well. He forgot to carry the 1. By the way governor have you seen my new 32 bedroom mansion in the Florida keys?..........."

Congress are in Lookheeds back pocket from what I can gather.

The main bonus of it is the per unit price is going to drop massively as they're producing so many and it should be a good aircraft.... eventually

20 million University students in mainland China.

308 million American citizens, according to the 2010 census.

Maybe it was in the education system not higher education alone then. I definitely recall reading something to that effect. Feel free to get the figures I've got a rotten cold right now and am too tired lol.

Even so 20 mill isn't to be sniffed at. That's what? 6.5% of the US? 33% of the UK population. 90% of Australia's? There's been a few interesting research discoveries made in china recently. It's not only about money but the heads you have undertaking different strands of research. The more you have the wider the possibility of a breakthrough.

China has just taken the best parts of the US and integrated it with their own personal strengths. 25 years ago people saw China as a dust bowl Asian country. Our kids today grow up seeing China in a completely different context. Even Hollywood is on the charm offensive surely the number of movies based in china with Chinese stars hasn't escaped your attention. And the US car industry is desperate for Chinese penetration. Meanwhile Chinese brands are popping up everywhere now similar to how Kia popped up into the market 20 years back.

China's GDP is predicted to surpass the states sometime soon

China's the future. Their entire economic structure is based around growth, investment and protectionism.

Theyve got their teeth into many African infrastructure projects. They have a belt and road trading network. What they have had to buy in previously they're working on developing internally. Silicon chips. Telecoms. Service sectors. And 3 sovereign wealth funds in the world's top 10.( Might be 15, not sure).

Make no mistake either. Huawei is huge. And it's going global.

Their own space program. Space station. And now moon landings. On parts not otherwise explored.

Not too shabby for a country who was a laughing stock 25 years ago.

I am in complete respect for everything they've achieved and for their governments steadfast resolute ambition to succeed and it's methodical, long term and structured approach to make their country a world leader. And I really believe it's our complete opposite which will be our ruin.

.......I mean shit.....if Sacha Baron Cohen can highlight how dumb so many US senators are nowadays doesn't exactly fill one with hope! ;)

The one thing I think that's overwhelmingly in the states favour though is immigration and birth rates. China is like Japan, racist. They don't like immigration and their birthrates suck.

That could be an equaliser here. And I think that might bite them in the ass.

Remember sputnik? That caught the yanks off guard. Probably a similar thing will happen but China will maintain the momentum better.

That and America doesn't have a driven leader like Kennedy anymore. That and too many people of influence having fingers in the financial pie.

What I'm saying is if there is another space race America's gonna be the Soviets this time. When the shift happens it's not going to be gradual but blunt and traumatic. There's more Chinese kids in university than there are American citizens. :rofl

I'm sure China will land men on Mars 1st. When that happens America is going to look so foolish on the world stage. Everyone will look at you guys differently.
Let China waste money to go to freakin Mars. Military power is where it’s at. We mop these fools easily.

I remember you posting a bunch of his videos last year good shit - however this link says Asteroid mining could be worth Trillions

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/15/mining-asteroids-could-be-worth-trillions-of-dollars.html
oh,I agree.............it could be worth trillions...........but as he says,it will almost certainly drive down prices of some of those commodities..........

its going to be an interesting period when 'space' opens up...............im not sure if any one set of predictions can take account of all the possible variables,eh?

a 'space race' would imply,I think,a concentrated effort by the US and its allies to beat the Chinese,eh?

not sure they chinese can beat the west in a tech game yet.................or in the near future.............economically and scientifically the chinese would be the soviets methinks...............

Some one mentioned a SCI FI tv show last year (i THINK it was called The Expanse???) that had mining colonies set up on Mars, The Asteroid belt etc - i watched the first 2 episodes - might be worth a re-visit.

NASA has been supressing footage of aliens on the Moon for decades. The real Apollo Missions were to make contact

Yup. Also, see China doing a long awaited follow-up to those epic 1980's space missions by Mr. Spoon to Button Moon:

I.for one,am shocked

Im sure Joe E,Vino,PolishFuckwit,TuffGong and the rest will be by with some interesting observations on the mission soon though.............

right?
Wrong.

Dale spent several posts berating me for daring to start this thread. Apparently this probe was a big deal when it was launched weeks and weeks ago (but not a big enough deal to be mentioned on here). And I'm an idiot cunt faggit for making a thread about it, because the USA landed on the moon 50 years ago.

Vino clicked "like" on all of Dale's simpleminded ravings. Obviously.

Joe hasn't been seen in this thread, because there haven't been any stupid lying memes made about this landing and he can't just babble angry gibberish about Leftists.

Neither Tuff Gong nor the Polish plumber have been seen.

So no..... there havn't been any interesting observations from any of them. You were wrong. Surprised? I know I am.
