The House that Peterbilt
Wrong.

Dale spent several posts berating me for daring to start this thread. Apparently this probe was a big deal when it was launched weeks and weeks ago. And I'm an idiot cunt faggit for making a thread about it, because the USA landed on the moon 50 years ago.

Vino clicked "like" on all of Dale's simpleminded ravings. Obviously.

Joe hasn't been seen in this thread, because there haven't been any stupid lying memes made about this landing and he can't just babble angry gibberish about Leftists.

Neither Tuff Gong nor the Polish plumber have been seen.

So no..... there hasn't been any interesting observations from any of them. You were wrong. Surprised? I know I am.

:hat

Maybe it was in the education system not higher education alone then. I definitely recall reading something to that effect. Feel free to get the figures I've got a rotten cold right now and am too tired lol.

Even so 20 mill isn't to be sniffed at. That's what? 6.5% of the US? 33% of the UK population. 90% of Australia's? There's been a few interesting research discoveries made in china recently. It's not only about money but the heads you have undertaking different strands of research. The more you have the wider the possibility of a breakthrough.

China has just taken the best parts of the US and integrated it with their own personal strengths. 25 years ago people saw China as a dust bowl Asian country. Our kids today grow up seeing China in a completely different context. Even Hollywood is on the charm offensive surely the number of movies based in china with Chinese stars hasn't escaped your attention. And the US car industry is desperate for Chinese penetration. Meanwhile Chinese brands are popping up everywhere now similar to how Kia popped up into the market 20 years back.

China's GDP is predicted to surpass the states sometime soon

China's the future. Their entire economic structure is based around growth, investment and protectionism.

Theyve got their teeth into many African infrastructure projects. They have a belt and road trading network. What they have had to buy in previously they're working on developing internally. Silicon chips. Telecoms. Service sectors. And 3 sovereign wealth funds in the world's top 10.( Might be 15, not sure).

Make no mistake either. Huawei is huge. And it's going global.

Their own space program. Space station. And now moon landings. On parts not otherwise explored.

Not too shabby for a country who was a laughing stock 25 years ago.

I am in complete respect for everything they've achieved and for their governments steadfast resolute ambition to succeed and it's methodical, long term and structured approach to make their country a world leader. And I really believe it's our complete opposite which will be our ruin.

.......I mean shit.....if Sacha Baron Cohen can highlight how dumb so many US senators are nowadays doesn't exactly fill one with hope! ;)
If you say that you think China has about as many tertiary students as the USA has citizens, and then you're shown that actually, you're off by about 290 million people (or a factor of 15).... and your response is to just shrug your shoulders and go "oh well, my point stands regardless"...... don't you think that sort of diminishes your credibility for the rest of your assertions in your post? I mean, that's not a rounding error. How did you ever think that little statistic could be within a million light years of being true?

Wrong.

Thought you had Dale and me on ignore.

They have improved from this, at least.

I mean I like the balls to call an aggressive weird play on fourth down given the game situation....... but not like that, for fucks sakes.

Yeah you found this probe so interesting you're now talking about the NFL.

The OP was your only post about it and in that all you did was post a link - no substantive comment or opinion on it. Exactly what whine and moan about Joe doing.

Liar and hypocrite.

I admitted I was wrong. That doesn't immediately invalidate my other points, climb of your high horse. This is a forum were here to debate and have different opinions, point out facts and errors. I was thinking back to a video I saw a looooooong time ago. It's called Shift Happens, you can Google it. Watch the original 2009 version.

It's actually the top 25% of China's highest IQs is greater than the United states population. That was the statistic. Been almost 10 years since I saw it so you'll have to forgive me.

That said. If China's population is say 1.2 billion than around 1/5 will be in education which is still just a shade under the US populace. But feel free to dig out the exact numbers for me Haggis.

But the point I was getting at was all things being equal then on strength of numbers one side prevails. Sure America can import skills but there's no denying native yanks have lost something their father father's had Culturally and educationally. There's no pride nor a drive to succeed there anymore and even if there was the momentum is with China.

The US still is the greatest country on this earth but it's going to take more moral fiber than I believe it has to keep that no. 1 crown and needing to import the skills you can't grow at home isn't exactly confidence inspiring.

Now chuck in some national debt and what seems like a lethargic encumbant leadership and things really don't seem anymore rosy.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the USAs last great gasps was a manned mission to Mars before China takes the lead on the world stage.

That's just how I see it. Drive. Ambition. Resources. Planning and numbers.

This is fair. :thumbsup

You have talked a lot about the issues facing the West.

What big problems do you see coming for China in the next 20 years?

Hmmm....I think....

Debt.

Social care.

Ageing population.

Democracy. As crazy as that sounds.

I think debt and social care might be offset quite a bit by their global investments though. Depends on whether they continue growing them.

About democracy a growing middle class can force change. Even in china and that might bring sweeping reforms. Who knows. 50 years from now they might have a bloated public sector sucking their wealth away! It can happen!

All I know is no empire lasts. They rise. They fall. Might take a while but India may steal their crown in time.

But being number 2 doesn't mean the US would be bottom rung. The world's a big place and there's room for a few big boys at the top. Certainly not the UK though :rofl

I agree with this. I personally think that the internet has killed the "Us vs Them" mentallity that fueled the space race between the U.S. and the Soviets. Also, Kennedy made that a matter of national pride. He inspired this nation to reach for greatness. I dont see that as a possibility any time soon with the clowns we have in office now, from either party.

So.........

Does anybody think if China actually does make some earth shattering/groundbreaking discovery in regards to secret human bases, alien structures or other ancient anomalies that they'll come clean to the human population or will they sweep it under the rug just and The USA and Russian does?

You do realise that this has been all over the news globally for some time, yeah, if you were at all interested then you could have followed the progress of the probe? You do realise the the western world landed A FUCKING MAN IN THE MOON SOME FIFTY FUCKING YEARS AGO!?
