Braekhus is getting older too; 37? Moving up at that stage of her career against a much larger fighter isn't necessarily a good idea.

At best, there are two fights available for Shields right now that have at least a small bit of intrigue: Savannah Marshall or a rematch with Hanna Gabriels. There's so little talent above 147lbs, so she's in a tough spot where it is almost impossible to build on from her win over Hammer.

Honestly, I wouldn't be against her having a freak show-style fight against a heavyweight. She'd still win...

Savannah Marshall needs to start picking up titles at Super-Middle quick sharp.
Might be a fight for the end of 2019 if she can pull her finger out...

There are even less fighters at super middle than 160lbs, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get her into position for a championship fight. Plus the WBO belt is currently vacant.

yep, it should be easy pickings for her to pick up a couple of titles and then have Shields step up to face a champion.
At the moment Shields vs. Marshall isn't a big fight...

So after Hammer Shields is the GWOAT?

I don't next to nothing about womans boxing but wasn't Katie Taylor being hyped as the bees knees of womans boxing?
I'd still have Taylor ahead of her. There's much more depth at the lower weights, so Taylor being #1 at lightweight is worth more than Shields being #1 at middle.

I would say Lucia Rijker is the greatest talent. But I don't know enough about women's boxing to say she's the greatest overall; the women today more than likely have stronger records in terms of opposition faced.

Put it like this. I think Katie walks in the mid 140s. I'm pretty sure if she didn't bother cutting, focused on maintaining strength during camp instead, and fought a catchweight fight with Claressa, she'd beat Claressa senseless. Shields it total garbage, and Hammer was a 1 dimensional underwear model.
