Can't see it happening. Shields likely won't get down to Nunes weight and Nunes certainly won't gain 25-30+ lbs. to fight at Shield's weight. And I doubt they take weight off the negotiating table.

Didn't shields just fight at 155lbs?

Edit: was 153lbs for the latest fight

But Nunes fights at 135. Shields has fought at over 160 before.
Yeah just meant their respective latest fights there was only a difference of 7lbs so it's perhaps not such a jump to make it happen atleast the weight difference seems the least of the problem.

Where are you getting those numbers? Nunes fought last at 135 in mid December and Shields fought last at 153-----more like 18 lbs. difference.

Nunes cuts to make 135 though. I have no idea what either of them walk around at, which obviously is more significant than where exactly they can hit weight right before a fight.

I know just about every fighter cuts to make weight so they can compete at a lighter weight class than their normal, walk-around weight. That being the case, just how much does that cow Shields walk around weighing if she's fought at high as the mid 160's and normally campaigns between 153-156. That thick ass she's carrying likely won't allow her to get in the mid 140's range.

The whole thing sounds like a pipe dream to me by someone thinking they could pull this off.

Exactly. Nunes can make weight at 135, but she's depleted. She weighed in at 145 and ripped Cyborg's head off in 40 seconds and Cyborg would have to cut off a leg to make 135, so that's a good sign for Nunes. As is always the case though, Nunes is a BJJ black belt and very aggressive on the floor, so if she gets the takedown, it's over.
