Right, how worried should we be about this shit?

China coronavirus: Cases 'highly likely' in the UK

China coronavirus: 'Increased likelihood' of cases in the UK
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51221915

I was barely paying attention to this news story but the main things that concerned me were how panicked the WHO seemed to be about this when they were deciding whether to declare a global emergency and China taking the measures it has taken in quarantining a massive city.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jan/22/coronavirus-china-measures-rein-spread-mutate-disease-death-toll

Now we have cases reported to the WHO from Korea, Japan and Thailand.

Anyone following this a bit more closely that can provide decent info on it?

NHS VOLUNTEER

RESPONDERS

Your NHS needs you! Join our team today.

NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak. To do this we need an 'army' of volunteers who can support the 1.5m people in England who are at most risk from the virus to stay well. Our doctors, nurses and other professionals will be able to refer people in to NHS Volunteer Responders and be confident that they have been matched with a reliable, named volunteer.

You can help by signing up for one or more of the tasks listed below. Once you have registered and checks are complete you will be provided a log-in to the GoodSAM Responder app. Switch the app to 'on duty', and you'll see live and local volunteer tasks to pick from nearby.

This programme enables volunteers to provide care or to help a vulnerable person, which is permitted under the new rules announced by the Government on 23rd March 2020. Volunteers may be asked to show the active task they are responding to if asked.

Your NHS needs you! Join our team today.

Volunteers must be 18 or over, and fit and well with no symptoms. Those in higher-risk groups (including those over 70, those who are pregnant or with underlying medical conditions) will be able to offer support by telephone.

Your safety is our priority. The majority of tasks can be undertaken while social distancing and volunteers will receive guidance through our 'getting started pack'. If you do become ill you can pause your volunteering.

Patient transport drivers will require an enhanced DBS check and will receive guidance to do this role safely, also included within the 'getting started pack'.

Pretty worried.

A contagious outbreak focused in China during Chinese new year, (the biggest migration of people in the world), has the potential for this to spread worldwide pretty quickly.

On a selfish point, there are a lot of Chinese students in my tough area, (not where I stay, but where I eat/drink/shop), most of whom have probably travelled home. There is a chance I could come into contact with this.

There have been 5 possible cases already admitted to Glasgow hospitals. Slightly worrying.

Yeah I've been following this for a while as I am Chinese and have family in Hong Kong.

The numbers they have listed are total BS, you really think they'd basically quarantine a city of 11 million people for just 26 deaths?

If some of the stories on Reddit are true the real number is something like 3000 deaths. While that seems horrendous in the US last year 1300 people died of normal flu in 2019 according to the CDC, so does anyone really think only 26 people have died in China?

With the Chinese New year your going to see one if the biggest migration of people on the planet as everyone travels to see family, it's basically the Chinese Christmas and with so many Chinese in foreign countries now it means this new virus is going to spread quickly.

The Chinese government have been complicit in spreading this virus, they've been down playing it from the get go all in the aim to avoid wide spread panic and avoid any kind of social unrest.

There's also been BS stories on Chinese social media that this was an attack by the US, lol. They are already setting up a fake cover story for when shit goes south.

This was what got me, why the sense of panic over a dozen or so deaths in a city of 11 million, it didn't add up... 3,000 in relation to 1300 doesn't sound too bad but this is one city in a far shorter space of time... at Chinese New Year in a highly populated city no less.

Yeah I'm fucked too, the building next to where I live is student accommodation and there's loads of Chinese there, it will be a miracle if I don't get it, I walk past that building everyday.

Common flu has a low mortality rate, whereas this one has a far, far larger one according to articles based on health organizations. The big question is: is it still spreading via bodily fluids or did it went airborne? The latter would be cluster fuck. Though it is expected to mutate to airborne at some point, the key is containing the spread and come up with some sort of medicine before that. But medicine might be a year or many more away.

It doesn't sound great really. People need to keep as healthy as possible, look after their immune systems.. sadly not enough people do. It's much easier than people expect too, I remember when there was the swine flu outbreak years ago- I didn't even come close to being unwell, even though I was spending night after night oiling my body up and creeping into pig stys.
My trick, and I'd urge everyone to try this, is to get your sexy black hands on some actimel. Don't drink it, pour almost all of it away- leaving about a teaspoon at the bottom of one of the bottles. Next you need to tug yourself for a little while, build it up so you get a decent load and then ejaculate into the actimel.
This is where the science comes in. Your semen will interact with the good bacteria in the bottle, at first they might be a little wary of each other. (The sperm is fuming because it can't find an egg anywhere, and the good bacteria is a little shellshocked- having seen a chuckling black giant leer into the bottle... before blocking out the light with his clenched purple bellend). Eventually the two will mix, and what you'll find is that the semen fuses with the good bacteria, acting as little horses for the bacteria to charge around on.

Cover the bottle with a little bit of cling film and keep it in your pocket for a few days, so it maintains a warm temperature.. if you want to do a few in bulk you tape them together and wear them like a fashionable sort of bandolier. You sort of feel like a cowboy.. but with runny yoghurt and cum instead of a Winchester rifle. After a few weeks pass, you can start to drink the evolved actimel, which at this point have began to strategise and form a small army, so when they come across a virus in the body, they split off and flank it, before trampling it to death with the help of their trusty jizz-steeds.

I have maybe five or six a day, just to ensure my body stays topped up and ready to defend against unwanted intruders, and I'll be honest now I've gotten past the curdled chewiness of it, I actually quite enjoy it.

But yeah, top tip there to stay healthy.

Saw a BBC news story about the Chinese coverage of this last night.

The top story on Chinese TV news is a new year's banquet for the leaders. This is hardly mentioned, and is heavily censored online.

Typical China. Mad that they are more concerned with censorship and reputation that in keeping people safe. There are always more people though I guess.

Fucking nuts that they can just build a hospital in 6 days.

I remember seeing a time lapse video of them building a several storey high building in 24 hours, shit was insane. Here I am sitting here with a building site next to me that been there for over 3 years while they build a few flats a dance studio and some other shit.

By the time we have HS2 in the UK China will likely have colonised Mars lol.

A lot of the time we get bogged down in planning, design, building regs, H&S and Quantity Surveyor bullshit which drags things out... they probably have none of that, barely any regard to H&S or cost, evident by the number of diggers on that site at the one time but it's still mind blowing that they could complete a functioning building in a week.

I'd be interested in seeing the final build once it's complete and what the interior layout, fit-out is like.

Pretty sure the Communist regime has contingency plans for this (and military barracks, concentration camps, and ad-hoc prisons and work camps) for unexpected large-scale events. I'd imagine there's plenty of pre-manufactured blocks they can Lego together fast. Having a stable, autocratic government does help in outbreaks, Africa has it far worse with divided nations and powers / institutions not penetrating rural & slum areas. And now all the Chinese spy cams and government surveillance make sense, if they can track heat maps they can react quickly. I wouldn't like to be one with the common flu tho, getting locked into a facity with ppl. on the coronavirus.
