Thought you said it was wrong to laugh at a post in lieu of actually refuting it. :nono
Fair enough.

I laughed because you're so quick to lay ALL the blame on "The Left"....... even though "The Right"'s stance on it for how many weeks was "fake news Chinese liberal hoax", "only a few cases", "all perfectly under control", "cases going to go down to zero very soon", "its just the flu ffs", "its actually not even as dangerous as the flu", "probably just disappear on its own in the summer", "masks are tyranny", etc etc etc......

My blame is on the left for doing as much, if not moreso than the people they've been criticizing to undermine the very measures they've been advocating for. Now after 2 weeks of total silence about covid, they're suddenly complaining about the disease again, accusing reopening states of "sacrificing lives," and want restrictions put back in place.

I say fuck 'em, if they're not going to respect the measures they themselves keep advocating for, then let them go back to work.

Okay.

May as well go and vote for the cunts who spent weeks calling it a Chinese hoax, who is STILL actively pretending that it doesn't exist, and whose official national response to the virus has been so shit that it has made the entire world actually pity you. :thumbsup

My sister is a nurse at a regional hospital and they have in fact been labeling car crash accidents as covid deaths as long as they test positive even after the fact. It's funny if you think it's not happening, but it is. My friends grandmother passed at the age of 96 from old age, had zero symptoms and the hospital labeled her as a covid death because she tested positive. She probably caught the virus in the hospital but died before she even got sick. They had to hire a lawyer to sue the state to change her cause of death.

I'd assume, although I'll do more research that they do that for any infectious disease, if they test positive? I know they do for the flu in the UK generally.

People seem to think that it's an excuse to just discount covid because of things like this, so the health authorities need to come out and explain why it's done like that.

Well they don't look at the actual cause of death, rather they seek out Covid so the hospitals can get $$$ for covid from the government. So it's not a hoax as much as hospitals are trying to make money during this situation because many are going bankrupt due to low amounts of patients.

So if you have the flu and died in a car accident or died from a heart attack you would want your cause of death to be labeled as covid so the hospitals can make more money?

Not at all. As I said it's causing people to us it as an excuse just fuck lock down off. I.E it's counter productive to containing covid. I'm not sure that it happens in the UK as our health system is totally different to yours in the US, it was still spread around the UK as if it was happening here all the time and never backed up on anyway other than a tweet from a random Twitter account.

Yes the problem is that our hospitals are run as corporations. They basically lost a ton of money now because they have few patients. So now that the government is handing out cash for Covid related treatment they are trying to cash in on it to stay afloat.

Is that really a problem for you, though?

Why?

You seem to rabidly hate just about everyone who suggests that maybe putting money in the pockets of wealthy shareholders shouldn't be the overriding goal of every part of the entire healthcare system. :conf

Well the people who were complaining about lockdown event just complaining about getting their hair cut, it was about being able to work etc. Not that I agree, I fully supported lockdown.

As for the protests regarding George Floyd it could have waited once the guy was charged. If not and it was so urgent why now and not before when other people (regardless of race) were killed unlawfully.

I think protesting during a pandemic is stupid, no matter how noble people feel the cause is.

Also in the UK we had people thinking VE day was a good excuse to break lockdown. Not to mention the amount of conspiracy retards we had telling people they'd die if they wore a mask. I'm sure I complained on here about it in the past.

But so many groups of people, left and right, have shown how little they genuinely give a shit about this pandemic throughout.
I think it was just timing, with so many out of work. I do agree that it is bad timing.

Maybe, but not everyone would be in the same boat.

There's a big difference between businesses slowing down and being completely inoperable.
Not maybe, I lost my job about 9 days before the state shut down.

But that's true, not everybody would've been in the same boat.

The George Floyd protests are happened because we had video of the incident in all its cruelty. It couldnt be explained away as the fault of the victim the same way Martin was portrayed in conservative media. Also it was coming off the back of a literally filmed lynching.

Also economic factors such as 20% unemployment, no sports to distract attention, millions of Americans without healthcare and babies in cages at the border. A demented narcissist as president. Bernie losing to Biden. Destruction of the environment ect ect

Revolutions in history tend to have a myriad of causing that coalesce at just the right time. Saying "they shouldn't be doing it because of Covid" ignores the fact that many Americans particularly young people see a hopeless future and feel they have nothing to lose.

Well imagine being a small business owner and you're basically losing your livelyhood due to the extended lockdowns. For some of these people it was go out and protest an end to the lockdown or lose their business for good. It's a tough situation, for some both protests are equal in terms of importance, for many it's hard to relate because they're MAGA hat wearing red necks with guns. Yet ANTIFA and BLM carry guns during protests and no one says anything.

I think the most important thing to do is look at both sides as equals in their own way.

That's all well and good and I don't disagree with the reasons behind the protests in the US. No doubt the people protesting wanting businesses back open before their families start going hungry felt they were doing so for virtuous reasons.

I doubt a virus gives a shit about who or what the protests are about. What's the death toll in the US for covid already this year? Magnitudes higher than the amount of people of all races killed by cops I imagine...

There are surely other ways if protesting that don't involve close contact with people??

Is this a revolution now as well? Not a protest about people being executed by cops? So the protests have been subverted.

Anyway back on topic, lockdown in the UK is utterly fucked now. People going to the beach, partying on VE day, a member of the government driving the length of the country for a baby sitter, protesting and rioting, block parties, celebration parties because Liverpool won the league. Everyone who has followed the rules is thinking fuck it now, because of every other cunt isn't bothering..

The USA printed 1 trillion dollars out of thin air. If someone is protesting because they want their business back open they are retarded. They should protest why the US government that has spent trillions of dollars on wars and tax cuts for the wealthy can't support it's citizens during pandemic.

Yeah but Covid will end one day and 40,000 Americans would continue to die due to lack of access to healthcare. Cops would still be killing thousands of Americans, the planet will still be dying and the 1% will still control 90% of the wealth.

As I said, you nor anyone chooses when the people have had enough.
