Oh for fucks sake they can't come out and state for fact that the virus is transmitted from person to person unless they know this for fact. They couldn't know that because the Chinese were keeping things under wraps, so the WHO said its likely it is transmitted from person to person and warned the world of the danger this virus poses.

By late January it was well known how it infects people. There is no excuse for the world's government's lack of preparedness by mid February ( when it started to spread throughout Asia, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Seattle) let alone in March or April like some countries, US/Brazil.

There was adequate time for everyone to prepare. When the news story moved from Wuhan to Bergamo and Italian doctors were on the news saying they had to choose between who lives and dies what were the British, Irish, American etc government leaders doing? Twiddling their thumbs?

The response to this was a massive global failure by our leaders. It has fuck all to do with the WHO.
Don't waste your energy man.

This is the same guy who claimed Boris Johnson was doing a very good job.

Just ask him to give some substance to that and see what happens

There's something hilarious about those who dislike Trump accepting every rumour or accusation as being 100% true, just like the 'soldiers being losers' thing, that's now as true to them as the sky being blue. Then when you get a credible scientist putting forward an opinion which doesn't suit them, they're no longer gullible fucks who accept everything, they become skeptics

For what it's worth, I don't think it's likely the virus was intentionally spread. It's most likely to come from unhygienic practices but there's a chance it was created deliberately, for whatever reason. It being spread intentionally is a far more troubling possibility but less likely one. If it was somehow proven to be true, it'd obviously be a justifiable catalyst for war - it's so serious that I don't think these accusations should be trivially thrown around.

Fuck off with your walls of bullshit, or start answering the questions that people put to you, instead of just cancelling anyone who calls bullshit on you.

I've never cancelled anyone who disagrees with me. I've put some people who clearly have mental issues on my ignore list, but that's because it's futile disagreeing with them. The most thoroughly researched, watertight, in depth response could be posted towards a person like SwollenGoat, but what would you get back? Just more incoherent rambling and unfunny memes from someone who, even his allies on here would have to admit, isn't fully functioning and has mental issues...so what's the point? It's futile and I have better things to do than waste my time discussing things with people who can't be reasoned with, will never back down on a point and always think they're right.

There has to be some point in all of this, in spending hours each week replying to each other. Some people - like SwollenGoat - are happy to be the loudest screamer in the corner, but others want to discuss ideas and respect different opinions. I'd rather talk to them and ignore the others.

What makes you think you're any less pigheaded? Because you type more? I have NEVER seen you concede a point or shift an opinion, that I can recall.

You're not even honest enough to concede that demon dream sex woman is not a credible authority when it comes to covid treatment, ffs. But she promoted hydroxychloroquine, so she's good with you. If that's your level of honesty, what level of discourse do you expect?

I have no issues with conceding points. Like on that small debate with @Redzer, what that boils down to is whether you think the WHO did enough or they should have known more. I think that if the outbreak was in France, Australia, Canada etc. then the WHO would have been able to give better guidelines quicker than they did with China, because of how open those countries are. If he disagrees, that's absolutely fine, it's personal opinion and he isn't 'wrong', just as I'm not 'right'.

I didn't argue that woman was credible, I don't know enough about her. My stance on her is that she shouldn't be attacked for her personal religious views, just like how many of the top specialists in a country like Britain are religious and believe things which are obviously untrue yet it has no bearing on their ability as a medical specialist. They're two seperate things and if you removed every doctor or surgeon who believed in nonsense, you'd have a barely functional health service. So that point was nonsense.

As for hydroxychloroquine, I wouldn't advocate using it because people like that woman say so. She's just one woman going off anecdotal evidence. However, the drug should be trialled properly. If the trials prove HCQ is useless and ineffective, don't use it, but if the trials prove it can prevent symptoms, use it - it's that simple. Individual opinions using anecdotal evidence are nonsense, my only stance on HCQ is that we should test it to see how effective it is and decide then.

Paragraphs and paragraphs defending this religious nut, because she became a darling of the right wing media ecosystem for five minutes, and no other reason.

yer full of shit and dont present 'well researched watertight in depth responses'

you give us your opinions about things you clearly dont know much,if anything about, and add sweeping general statements to it and present it as factual

its one of the most maddening posting styles on this site

IF YOU TRIED TO POST FACTUAL WATERTIGHT STUFF I could at least get to the meat of it,the sources, and debunk them but you DONT,you post endless walls of opinions you mistake for facts..................DUMB opinions most of the time

the memes are a RESPONSE to you and the entire trumpist gang that ONLY communicates in like manner

its a sort of PARODY of yall

thing is,my memes are pretty much all factual and I bother to check em...........unlike those from a vino, lets say.................so you dismissing em as simply meaningless memes shows,AGAIN,you dont actually know much about whats being discussed

It just does my head in man, I literally smash they keyboard with my fingers in anger typing replies to him.

I mean Wuhan was the number one global news story, anyone who reads or watches their national media knew what was going.

But according to Jack and his cronies "it doesn't matter what we knew" Like Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had to visit each of our elected leaders in person, sit them down and explain to them like children how serious this new virus is.

Because he didn't do that our leaders can't be blamed for their utter incompetence. Its the WHO's fault that hundreds of thousands have died :patsch

This type of shit gets me angry man.

Jesus Jack what are you doing man?

You have said the WHO should have known more and told us more earlier. Now you're saying if it wasn't China, if it was somewhere like Canada they would have known more earlier.

No shit. We've being trying to explain to you its not the WHO fault that the Chinese weren't transparent.

You're just contradicting yourself.

You're only looking at it from one side. What you're still not understanding is that the WHO could and should have investigated this thoroughly, rather than quoting the Chinese government. If this was in a western country, they would have investigated this with more transparency but because it was the Chinese government, which they've shown undue bias towards, they ended up quoting Chinese official statements, despite knowing it wasn't true. Individual WHO officials knew it wasn't true and yet the WHO as an organisation was still supporting the idea that human to human transmission wasn't proven...purely because they didn't want to contradict the Chinese government.

Did the WHO do enough? No. Did they do as much as they would if the virus was first reported in Canada? No. Therefore, they must be held accountable for that and justify why they did so little and just parroted the official Chinese line. Repeating Chinese lies is a crime in itself for an independent, apolitical organisation.
