Anyone thinking Boris had any other choice is living in fantasy land.

Right now I think Boris is looking weak. He apparently wanted to lock down before but feared Rishi Sunak would quit, now he wants Manchester to lock down but Andy Burnham is refusing. He's supposed to be the PM but seems to be having his actions dictated to by others.

In times of crisis good leaders need to stand up and lead. For great leaders it comes naturally. COVID requires a bipartisan approach too.

The fight itself is big enough without the people who should be leading the way fighting among themselves.

So close to zero again today for Victoria, with only 1 new COVID case.

No deaths again too.

Recent daily numbers 5, 10, 13, 15, 7, 15, 12, 9, 15, 6, 11, 11, 14, 12, 15, 12, 7, 6, 2 and now 1.

Truly puzzling why positive news here gets so little response :think

Lol, we're all too busy wallowing in our own self pity as our own countries cock it up on an epic scale.

You posting about how well Australia is doing is a but cruel I think, rubbing our noses in it lol. "Look at us Aussies look how well we are handling Covid." It's bad enough you have amazing beaches, better standard of living, amazing weather, Margot Robbie and now you're gloating about how well your country is governed, smug bastard!

Rubbing YOUR noses in it? FUCK OFF!

Jesus I was making a joke dude.
My response probably sounded a bit harsher than was intended :smile

Stage 4 is not much fun but sometimes it's just the price you have to pay. As for gloating when in it? Hardly.

As far as governing goes, here in Australia there have been motions of no confidence against 3 of our state premiers in the past few weeks. Unprecedented.

United States was up over 70,000 daily cases. Still under 1,000 deaths. High positivity rates in many states.

Most likely new daily cases will be at 100,000 by November 1st but deaths always lag.

So I expect "only" a increase of average daily deaths by maybe 150 by than. Probably be averaging just over 1000 daily deaths.

John Hopkins lags the world data website in deaths but right now they are at 218,000 deaths according to John Hopkins.

I predicted 250,000 dead by election day awhile back but I am guessing now it's more like 230,000.

250,000 by November 22nd.

300,000 by December 20th.

312,000 by Christmas.

330,000 by New Years Day.

380,000 by January 20th.

Grim numbers, no doubt US will hit a new record high for daily cases next week by the looks of it as this 2nd wave seems to be really picking up pace.

Worst thing is nobody over there in a position of authority seems to care enough to do anything about it. What is wrong with those people?

Too busy playing partisan politics to try and win an election.

What's going on now is more important than any election. Both sides should have worked together to fight this, but they were too busy point scoring.

Trump takes most of the blame, he's in charge and has mainly acted like an idiot. But every politician over there has shat the bed in one way or another.

Obviously all the extra deaths are due to suicides from the lockdown

(That's a joke... suicides may be up....but the normal range is around50,000...at most it is up a few thousand over that.)
