Anyone have a good idea as to what plans the international community will make to develop a system that reignited tourism for those who have been vaccinated? A card system?

You have to wonder if we (Britain) had a healthier population, we wouldn't be in this mess. The government have much to be blamed for, but living a healthy lifestyle isn't one of them. I am sure everybody knows someone who lives an unhealthy lifestyle, whether it be they are overweight, diabetic etc. I've seen a lot of people compare us to Vietnam and that is kind of fair for a population of Vietnam's size, but I imagine Vietnamese diets and lifestyles are far better than us here in Western Europe. I can't say this with certainty, but surely unhealthy lifestyle makes a big difference, no? I heard recently that we have the most obesity in Europe. Sickening.
Many countries are in a similar position when it comes to the health/fitness of their populations.

It was addressed as a problem decades ago here in Australia and there was a big advertising campaign aimed at getting people off the couch and into the park.

The fucking irony now is, if a personal trainer wants to conduct a class in a park, they need to pay the council for the right to use of the park. If they don't and they get caught, fines apply. Talk about disincentives! They should be being encouraged. Not disadvantaged.

Countries seem to be differing in opinion on that. Some see it as a good idea. Others are maintaining that, as vaccinations are not compulsory there, it would amount to discrimination.

COVID can be a bit like boxing where you are only one punch from disaster.

We came out of our 111 day lockdown here in Victoria, on October 28th last year and life has been very good since. Three and a half months of quality lifestyle.

But we have a few COVID flare-ups around the place at present and a press conference from our premier scheduled for 2pm (just under two and a half hours from now) could reveal another fork in the road and perhaps even some new restrictions? We shall see.

The premier's press conference has been moved forward to 1pm - that's right now.

Expected to announce a 5 day lockdown for Melbourne or perhaps the whole of Victoria.

The details minutes away.

Is it really any more discriminatory than having mandatory vaccinations for school kids, though?

The UK reached the target of 14.4m vaccinations earlier today. Hopefully this can carry on until the top 9 tiers are done, which is an additional 16m people and at the current rate, that should take about 5.5 weeks. There is likely to be a supply issue from Pfizer around that time though, but if we can get the next 16m done by mid-April, that'll be a tremendous success.

Hopefully more vaccines get approved too. I believe Moderna's is expected around April and I'm guessing it's similar for the Janssen vaccine?

Roll forward 3 months when we have the pubs open and the Paddy’s in Dublin are still in lockdown. That’s not going to be fun.19091

Victoria is scheduled to end our 5 day lockdown tonight.

Have missed 2 gym sessions and a bit of socializing but as an emergency worker I have continued to work. So minimal impact personally.

Our premier has confirmed today Victoria's 5 day lockdown will end at midnight tonight. Happy days.

The first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has arrived in Australia and Australians will begin receiving Pfizer vaccinations from next week.

Feb. 4th is my next dose. Not really looking forward to it, but it has to be done. If I can't get through a vaccine, I had no chance against the virus.
I didn't see if you updated or not so maybe you already said.

But how did it go?

About to break 500,000.

Now some sources like the NYT wait until the deaths are verified so they are about 10,000 behind.19261
