Crawford v. Brook

This is Crawforda biggest test to date, Brook is the bigger man and has fought the best, has a granite chin and has very good power himself, a lot is hinging on Brook being damaged goods, but if he’s the same guy who fought Spence the Crawford will need his A game. This should be a really good fight that’s going under the radar.

Had a dream Brook put Crawford to sleep, I favour Crawford but if Brook's eyes hold up Id be impressed if Crawford gets the stoppage, Brook is a strong guy he backed up Spence at the beginning Crawford is going to have to be sharp from the start, lets hope Brook is close to how he was against Spence

Definitely, I just rewatched Brook vs triple G, he went toe to toe with him for 5 rounds and didn’t get scrambled once, the first round was just a balance thing, Golovkin broke him mentally and broke his face, but Brook is tough. I don’t think Brook will leave himself open for the counters, the odds of 3-1 for this going the distance is very tempting.

Brook did surprisingly well against GGG, but he mostly kept himself safe while landing lots of annoying-but-not-dangerous punches. He was a pesky mosquito that Golovkin needed time to figure out. If memory serves, there was never a single moment in that fight where you thought 'OMG, Golovkin might lose this!"

I see no difference with the Crawford fight, except that K will be older and slower. I doubt he sees the final bell.
- But he's certainly earned the paycheck. Good for him.

Is Brook really that much more a bigger man though?
Boxrec has him listed only an inch taller but 5 inches less reach.

Bud has come up from a lower division but since coming to welterweight he hasn't seemed undersized at all. Brook has campaigned in the higher divisions for longer but imo it wont going to be a factor at all

He will rehydrate a good a 12lbs heavier I bet, he will be the biggest he has fought but it will unlikely be a big factor in this fight. If Crawford stops Brook or dominates him then it will be a huge statement for me, can’t wait for this one.

Yeh that’s fair. At a 147 limit I’d expect Bud to be mid to high 150’s though.... He already was already 152lbs on HBO’s unofficial scale for the Gamboa fight. So it won’t be much difference. But bigger is bigger.

I don’t mind Brook, but I’m hoping for Bud to put on a brutal clinic in which he completely outclasses, dominates and KO’s Brook

What did you think of his performance and TKO over Jeff Horn in his first run at the weight class? Horn has also been up to 160 like Brook but Horn has a win there if I remember rightly

Kell can box off the back foot. I give him a good chance at winning because of the physical strength, motivation, and experience he will carry. Crawford is somewhat unproven. Hopefully after this fight he leaves Top Rank so he can fight the best in the division (Spence, Garcia, Porter).

It was a great performance, he had the antidote to Horns style that Pacquiao clearly didn’t. I actually didn’t bare Horn in mind when thinking about size, Horn was probably bigger in that fight than Kel will be tomorrow.

I’ve put £100 on Brook to win at 6/1. I don’t think he will pull it off, but 6/1 way too high, I think it’s a 3/1 fight, I think Crawford wins the decision 8 rounds to 4 after getting shaken early.

I think it was a good win. But though I would love to support my country man and say he was a formidable opponent, I don’t really think he was. Crawford exposed he doesn’t have the tools to deal with the elite level guys. Crawford simple out boxed him and had the strength to offset Horns mauling tactics that worked against Pacman

Horn is bigger and strong but pretty limited and I think he’s been on the decline since Pac. In his first outing at 160 he had a war with Michael Zerafa (who’s probs best known in the states for being stopped by Peter Quinlan in 2015) and was stopped in the 9th. Horn won the return bout but still had to go to war. Since the he’s also been stopped at light middle by Tim Tszyu. I think his time as any threat at the top level is done.

Worth a punt at that price, it's not as if Brook is a bum or has zero chance, I won't be picking him either but since you got him by any means, perhaps something strange might happen like a Crawford DQ or a bad injury forcing him to pull out or lose on the cards, I wouldn't be shocked if Brook was ahead at the halfway point, I thought he was up against Spence Jr at the same point and Crawford isn't the quickest off the mark. Good luck, you can't win if you don't spin.

Yeah Horn didn't do anything before or after Pacquiao, if he didn't beat Pacquiao no one would even know who he was (maybe you would but no one in the UK would I mean or Stateside). But I mentioned that fight to point out that Crawford is a strong dude, Horn couldn't bully him around and got knocked out with those rush in tactics, if Brook comes in with his chin out he'll taste power he wasn't anticipating. Barring that though I've got Bud inside 10 probably a body shot or accumulation of body shots ends Brook's hopes of becoming a 2-time champion of the world. I can't wait for the first bell.

I’ve never seen Kell Brook fight before.
As a Pacquiao fan, I kinda feel threatened by Crawford...

will he call the Pac-Man out after a victory over Brook?
Crawford will call Pacquiao out. You should be threatened by that.

Crawford has all the tools to send Pac-Man to retirement with a bad loss
