What’s the verdict on DDD beat down of Tom Little on Saturday?

I thought for a 20 year old with a lot of expectation he boxed extremely well, career best performance. He showed patience, power and a boxing brain. It seems that people are split on his capabilities and potential and I too believe the jury is out on him being a legit prospect but that is the case for any emerging heavyweight. It really is the most difficult division to judge and develop correctly in.

So despite plenty of stick,20 year old Dubois has beaten AJ Carter,Dorian Darch,DL Jones and Tom Little in his last 4 bouts.Thats acceptable progression between area and English level for the lad and now the question is when do you let him off the leash?

Is he ready for the likes of Hughie Fury and Joe Joyce at British and commenwealth level? It’s a big step up in class so who can you match him with in the meantime?

I for one hope to fuck Warren doesn’t hold him back, same with Yarde,Barrett,Garner and Fury as well.

That kind of matchmaking is so counter productive and fucking awful for us fans.Fight week after fight week of big talk and one sided exhibitions.

How exciting would it be to see him blaze a trail through the division, matched hard like a Josh Taylor and build up a fanbase and media buzz.I just can’t see it with Frank.

He’s still young and definitely not ready for the likes of Joyce yet in my humble opinion. I’m not even going to class Hughie Fury as a fighter tbh.

I think a couple of good fights next for him would be Gary Cornish followed by Kevin Johnson. Johnson would surely give him rounds which is what he needs but he wouldn’t have the ambition to win.

He’s still really young and there’s no need to rush him. Step him up a level and let him have a few fights there to consolidate before moving him up further.

Yeah he ain’t ready for Joyce or Hughie who to be fair are strong domestic belt holders.

But he now needs to move.

Akinlade or Webb as an English defence or 2 if quick (then 10-0) then he needs experienced international opposition.Joshua had the natural attributes and could jump levels quickly,Joyce too.Why not Dubois?

Na too early for the likes of Joyce or Fury, don't forget Fury should have won a world title in the eyes of many people, he at least pushed Parker very close. No way is Dubois ready for that level, he should fight Nick Webb or Sam Sexton imo, maybe Cornish although i think that doesn't go 3 rounds.

He's got his minor belts now, WBC Youth, Southern Area and English.

I'd stay at the same level for now and wait for the right opportunity to go for the British, Hughie will vacate soon enough and there's decent mix of guys there to potentially go for the Lonsdale, Nick Webb, Dave Allen, Nathan Gorman, could always wheel out Sexton again.

For the next 12 months, just keep going steady and get the British along the way, probably an upgrade on his ranking belt too with the WBC International, then the following year go for Euro's and Silvers.

He is so young he is like a decade younger than AJ, Wilder & Fury. He can wait until the next era before he even steps up to world level he is that young.

Cornish, Webb, Allen, Turner would all be decent ways to tread water while learning.

Gorman seems to be the fight they're building but wouldn't want to rush that as think could be a biggie down the line.

Jonathan Rice, Safety pin and Guinn are the go to durable heavys - think theres another that I'm forgotting too.

Anyone know whats happened with Con Sheenan? Had a bit of hype when he joined up with Peter Fury

I'd tag Michael and Joe90 in this but the site isn't good enough to do that now

He looks slooooooooow i mean he's consistent in that he gets the second one across very nicely but is he going to be outsped by the first physical creature he meets?

And one paced,I said it on Saturday but I do feel he will appear like a plodder when he reaches the highest level.

I’d love to watch him spar AJ or Fury,he doesn’t seem to have that explosive change of gear that will make the difference as he goes through the levels.

More of the same. The Little fight was perfect, showed how good he is but also answered questions and doubts about him.

English Title defences against Webb, Kash Ali etc. But ideally I'd have a defence against Sexton.

Warren really has 2 gems on his hands with Dubois and Gorman and I think if that happens then it deserves to have a british title on the line

I thought Triple D improved alot from his last fight, his step back left hook is dangerous and him being patient makes him less predictable but he keeps the pressure on the whole time, want to see if he can steamroll Dave Allen

Because Dubois is only 20 and didn't fight, with great success,at elite amateur level OTW. Warren won't rush him. Nor should he. I don't like Turner as an opponent. Him,Tom Little and Dave Allen have all been acting as "the opponent" I think they can now have good fights with each other and the likes of Sam Sexton and Gary Cornish. Nick Webb,as an unbeaten fighter,is possibly no better but I think a really good next one for Dubois though if you look at his opposition it points to him going the same way as the others.
I agree about experienced international opposition. But this is where Warren has to start using his imagination.. A big American with a few wins and not many losses on his record wouldn't be out of the way. No cruiserweight,no pensioners. This is where they need to do their job,no Bonecrushers either.
@ACS not Dave please. Let Dave and Tom little have a TTEE next and then fight each other. But you're probably right.
@Grant possibly Sam. He's not become "the opponent quite yet but maybe after he himself beats a TTEE.

I keep seeing heavyweights who I think would be good opponents for Daniel on these American shows then forget about them. But its NOT my job. It IS Frank Warrens. He should watch his own programme and pick an opponent for Dan from that. Either that or employ @beadybea as his matchmaker.

He definitely improved mate. Tom was a lot better than his other opponents and he handled him well. Used a good jab and was hit by very little{get it} . I don't think Webb is much if any better than Tom but as an unbeaten fighter with good size he's a decent enough next fight.

Pushed Parker close, but inn my opinion didn't beat him. But you're right, its too early for those two. Fury is still only 23 and still the best prospect in heavyweight boxing. May yet win a title. Hell look even better if Parker beats Whyte, which again only in my opinion could well happen.
Joyce might well be Daniels Bonecrusher if they fought now,but in another 2 years if Dan didn't beat him he's not the fighter I think he will become.
