Taylor will batter her. I am just watching Persoon win the WBC title against Nicole Boss and the standard is dreadful. Boss came in with a record of 13-4-2 and only 3 of the women she beat have winning records. So 19 fights, only 3 wins against fighters with winning records and she's catching Persoon with the jab constantly even though she is getting hammered.

Persoon is throwing arm punches in slow motion and wide open. Taylor should dominate with ease. I watched the first 2 rounds and then skipped to the 9th for the farcical stoppage. They both look very similar from distance, so if you want to check it out, Persoon is the one in harlequin style shorts with DTT on the back of her clothing.

My god Women's boxing is fucking shite. Cunts with what would be classed as a journeyman record in the mens fighting for world titles. Taylor will win with ease an could be undisputed at the next weight as well. The fact that previous opponents are all world champions now shows how low the standard is.

Or shows how good she is?

There's simply no depth in women's boxing. This current era is setting the foundations, and hopefully for its sake this helps to entice much more female boxers in the next 5-10 years.
Gyms are full of the next generation of female boxers, the standard will be much higher as they will have served their time in the amateurs

Round and about
Taylor's benefited from being in the right place at the right time. As the pioneer she's achieved a status she mightn't have done in a few years time due to the dearth of talent at the beginning of a new era, and fair play to her.

Blonde lesbian Trina 'Golden Girl' Gulliver did exactly the same thing in darts. Always walked on to You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate (bit of a stretch TBH ). Won loads of 'world titles' basically just by turning up. Sometimes there were barely two or three gash in the entire tournament and you were lucky if they could even hit the fucking board. .

Got routinely battered by some Russian polony in the end.

Have we heard anything else about the undercard so far?
Just Yafai against Jimenez is the only other fight that's been confirmed I think. Jimenez has had a weird career hasn't he? Lost 8 of his first 11 and drawing one, but after a few years of beating nobodies he gets a respectable draw in his first and only fight away from home against Kono. Now he's got another chance a few years after his first title opportunity after beating nobody again.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that fight. If I'm remembering right, Jimenez was unlucky not to get the decision against Kono as well. His career reminds me of a Thai boxer to an extent; missing out on a big title win, then padding out the record with what are essentially exhibition contests until another opportunity comes around.

Plus his BoxRec picture deserves a mention:

I had to go to BoxRec to check that as I was convinced you put them shades on him

I think in 5 years we'll be reminding ourselves of Jimenez when Yarde gets his 2nd title fight after he loses to Kovalev and spends years fighting nobody.

Taylor is about 75 percent as good as she was as an amateur, where she did fight good competition and beat them all handily about 20 times each, only when she started losing to girls she used to beat with relative ease did she turn pro, and she's still far and away better than any of the others out there, so an unfair comparison

Katie Taylors documentary 'Katie' is now on Netflix, it's pretty good.

What's interesting is seeing the 2012 Olympic final against Sofya Ochigava, even Taylor wasn't sure she won. The Russian looked very good, and would clearly be a huge problem in the pros.

Ochigava had two pro fights with Ryabinsky's World of Boxing, but she hasn't fought since 2016. On Ochigava's pro debut she beat a Kazak who is now a World champion.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the documentary. I'll give it a watch when I get a chance.
