while it wont be means tested,it wont eliminate the option of going to a more prestigious school and paying yerself either..........its going to fund students at 'state' schools, not places like Harvard..........

and one still has to qualify and be accepted on ones merits,eh?

the right is TERRIFIED of an educated populace and thats why they are largely against this

personally,I have a hard time thinking of a more worthwhile investment...............an educated citizenry is absolutely necessary for a functioning democracy and a decent society IMHO................now more than ever..............its an investment in the people and the nation............'infrastructure' of a sort...............and it can only make our workforce more competitive on the world stage,eh?

What will the cost be? I love these guys who throw fantasy crap out there without even estimating a cost.. You know like Bernie. We will just do it and worry about the cost later.

I said time and again that I didn't think he ACTIVELY 'colluded'..............that if there was 'collusion' it was 'accidental' on his part because he isnt smart enough to avoid being trapped ..............multiple posters have now explained just this to you...........but hey,why let the facts get in the way of yer senile ranting, right?

so,yeah,yer wrong

as always

whats that got to do with my post anyway?

the post was about how dipshits like YOU try and smear Bernie and other 'leftists' with outdated dinosaurian old red scare nonsense

in fact, you have said multiple times that Bernies 'socialism' INEVITABLY LEADS to 'communism...............despite not knowing what 'communism' actually is.............remember when you told us it was 'the worship of the all embracing state'?

:rofl

yes Joe,the system that seeks to ABOLISH the 'state' is the 'worship of the all embracing state' that INEVITABLY arises from socialized healthcare.........like the healthcare you personally enjoy right now, boomer

I totally agree. If not fully covered, it needs to be heavily subsidised and aimed at the less fortunate.

My gripe is around those who don’t need it getting full assistance as I’m a firm believer in paying your own way if you can afford to do so. I pay a relatively small fee to see a doctor, whereas someone who earns much less doesn’t have to pay. This is how it should be.

Secondly, I’m no fan of university diversity quotas and programs like affirmative action; what about the smart asians who get racially discriminated against at every school in the US?

Thirdly, many of these humanities courses should have zero funding from taxpayers. It’s these fucking drop kicks who are the root cause of many of the issues we recoil at on campuses today.
the base should apply to everybody,be it education or healthcare

at the same time private insurance and schools wont be eliminated if people want to pay for 'more'

Im also against quotas of any kind...........

Im not for telling people what they can or cant study though.............let em enroll in 'gender studies' or whatever they like............at least we will have LITERATE maids and burger flippers,eh?

I think the whole 'sjws are ruining education with their humanities stuff' is overblown and, whatever the current scale of it,can only decline because there is no real demand for it in the workforce.............

Bernie needs to start hitting that 30% range if he wants to crush it on Super Tuesday. With the current field he has to win Nevada and SC very comfortably and then super Tuesday will be a breeze.
What Bernie needs to do is replicate the 2016 Trump template, make the DNC so completely his bitch that they have no choice but to nominate him on the first ballot in Milwaukee. I don't think comfortable wins in Nevada and SC are necessary to do that though, just being able to have the narrative of sweeping all four of the first states in the popular vote.

If Biden's SC firewall goes down to Sanders, Amtrak Joe's done, but Bernie may be better off having Biden around on Super Tuesday for cancelling out Bloomberg and his billions. (I don't know how far a totalitarian billionaire who legislates how we eat and drink can go however. It reeks of the Taliban jailing bridegrooms over trimming beards for their weddings, or North Korea's 15 state permitted haircuts.)

For Bernie in SC, a close second to Biden might be preferable to a win of any margin. If Biden's gone on Super Tuesday, the DNC establishment will be coalescing behind just one candidate. Even if Biden wins by less than 2% (as Bernie did in Iowa and NH), that's enough to keep him in it through Super Tuesday and screw Bloomberg instead of Sanders as they cancel each other out.

Biden himself could knock out Warren by holding second place in Nevada, making it extremely difficult for her to last to Super Tuesday. If she's gone by then, her dwindling votes won't go to anybody but Bernie.

"Stop and frisk" isn't going to help Bloomberg with blacks and Hispanics against Biden. Bernie's early 1960's civil rights activism can, as he wasn't consorting with segregationists in the Senate.

A brokered convention would be virtually impossible for Sanders to win, but it could propel him to a 50 state appearance on the General Election ballot and powerful voter turnout. No, he won't beat Trump without an extreme economic collapse, but he could force the DNC nominee back to a third place finish in November and transform the Democrats into a progressive-socialist party for 2024 that way. In either instance, with Bernie as the DNC nominee or as a third General Election POTUS option, establishment Democrats get voted out in droves for a party reboot.

The question is: What do they reboot to? The American Public already reject their soft Socialism. Now what?

I dunno...

You could be looking at the end of the Democratic party as presently established. Even after Reagan's 49-1 state drubbing of Mondale in 1984, the Democrats retained a 72 seat majority in the House with a powerful Speaker in Tip O'Neill. A bad defeat this November leaves them nothing to hold onto, so they might as well split apart.

As it is, the Democrats no longer have a true centrist/moderate wing remaining. A new party might assemble such representation. It might also be that outcast Republican and Democratic establishment mainstream members could unite to form a new large tent party which the MSM might promote, considering the MSM's vehement opposition to progressives.

Except all signs point to the House Dems increasing their lead, the Senate having a great chance of flipping Dem and by some miracle Trump wins in November very low possibility almost non existent of him winning the popular vote and he'll likely be the most disdained president in history. (that leaves out what type of crimes he decides to commit from here to then as he can't help himself)

In summation Boomer, you and crrrrazzy joe are full of shite.

Far more likely the end of the Republican party given that it's base is 50-90 year old and fundamentalist religious crazies. Both on their way out as slowly but surely.

Presuming your scenario holds true, how does any new Democratic POTUS hope to govern and implement policy over a torn majority "party?" How is it that they can get ANY of their wild and extravagant campaign "promises" passed against a unified GOP loyal opposition minority and divided Democratic "majority" split along progressive and establishment lines? (And for winning the campaign, what is the case that whoever the DNC nominee is can make for delivering on their claimed policy proposals?)

As for "by some miracle Trump wins in November," yeah, that's why Hillary Clinton became POTUS in January 2017, proving beyond any doubt there's NO chance he wins this coming November either...:

Nearly four years into Hillary's first term, how do you feel about her prospects for reelection in November 2020, based upon her first four years? (How delusional of me to ever think Trump and the Republicans EVER had a majority in either chamber of Congress during the last four years! Gee, I guess I should check myself into an insane asylum for being so crazy as to imagine such a thing!)

Of course we understand that Democrats are infinitely more logical, rational, thoughtful, tolerant and civilized than Republicans and Trump supporters, something guaranteed to win them votes this November...:

Of course, because as these clips prove, the 13 to 29 year old supporters of Republican opponents are infinitely saner, more civilized and thoughtful than that 50-90 year old base you referred to, not in the least bit even slightly crazy...:

NYC Mayor Bloomberg Sues City Council For Trying To Increase Living Wage

t’s an economic platform that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg compared to a “big managed economy” like that of the old USSR. For Bloomberg, the suggestion that two bills recently passed by New York City’s City Council were harsh enough to echo a communist reference has been seen as a reach for some, particularly when the bills pertain to raising minimum wage.

So does anyone else think there's a serious possibility of a brokered convention, with the DNC stealing it from Bernard, all in the name of "electability"?

by the way, Bloomberg is a serious threat. A menace. He is no joke. The DNC will continue to maneuver and manipulate the rules in order to benefit bloomberg, imo.
