This is just such absolute bullshit, man.

Are you seriously suggesting that the Australian and so called UKs healthcare is worse than the US?

We both know that's simply not true. The US system is also BY FAR the most expensive in the world yet it is nowhere near the top, never mind the best.

This is the issue with American politics. They focus on finding the faults in other systems to justify the status quo. NO ONE is suggesting other systems are perfect but surely the measure should be "is it better than the US at a fraction of the cost ?" and the answer is, demonstrably, yes.
I am not saying they are worse but I am saying they are falling apart due to use and abuse - you don't think so?

No, Idiot. He suggested that the systems in the UK and Oz have been brought to a shambles because of Doctors and patients. He also suggested that Ozzies are supplementing their national health insurance with private insurance. Saying that they are paying twice via taxes and out of pocket.

Falling apart?

No, I think that's too extreme.

Are there issues? Absolutely.

Even with their issues, are they significantly more cost effective, inclusive and accessible than the US system? Absolutely, yes.

Listen, this isn't a go at you here but this attitude is rife with Yanks and it's fuckin' ridiculous, man. When an issue is highlighted with anything in their country, be it healthcare, gun control, religion in politics, etc their immediate response is not to acknowledge the issue it's to raise issues with alternatives. The reality is that no alternative is perfect but almost every single one is better than what they currently have but they're happy to avoid ever having to deal with their issues by hiding behond the fact that nothing is perfect. It's the very height of ignorance and arrogance.

Doctors, nurses, and the like dove in which both feet, eh, Al? Question. Are Ozzie citizens able to sue Doctors, who essentialy work for the state, for malpractise?
Doctors can be sued but it's nigh-on impossible to get a goo result.

A good mate sued a major hospital because they fucked up during the birth of his son. It was set for a 5 week Supreme Court trial but they settled on the steps just before it was due to begin. He said afterward if he knew the stress and cost of it he never would have started it. The hospitals know very few people can take them on.

Because an individual is, in essence, suing the state?

@mandela is talking out of his arse as usual.

He obviously doesn't know Aussies actually get punished if they don't take out private health insurance by the time they're 30. If we don't take out private health cover by time we're 30, there's a 2% loading on each year after 30 that we don't have cover.

So if I were to take out health cover now after never having it, I'd have to pay a 34% loading on top of the normal premium every year from now on.

Not sure if he was in the USA when Obamacare came in but basically the Democrats voted to fine anyone who did not pay for Health Insurance, but now want to give it to illegals for FREE

Eric Swalwell has just become the first casualty of the Democratic field.

To which potential voters universally responded, "Who?"

I don't know, but he wouldn't be the first person on the left to echo that sentiment. Bill Maher has done so several times on his show.

Second quarter fundraising (April-May-June)
  • Pete Buttigieg: $24.8 million
  • Joe Biden: $21.5 million
  • Elizabeth Warren: $19.1 million
  • Bernie Sanders: $18 million
  • Kamala Harris: $12 million
Oh hey look, @Mexi-Box - Mayor Pete raised more than Biden and more than Warren, and 50% more than Sanders. Tell me again how his campaign is a joke. :thumbsup

Good stuff. I hope Bernie brings it up in the next debates. I have to wonder what corporate warlords he had to suck off. Just stop, Haggis, Buttplug won't be our next president.

Yeah, I’d say his chances are probably about zero. I don’t see anywhere near the majority of black or Latino voters ticking the box for a gay president and outside of this forum I’ve never even heard of him. What city is he even the mayor of?
