Tell me something, you whiney, self serving faggit? What compelled you to put @VinoVeritas name and my name in a thread title and keep them there for months? Now you whine because that same person comes into a thread for the express {according to you} purpose to harangue you? You, Asshole, are solely responsible for the way that you get treated here. Why don't you grow a dick and deal with what you brought on yourself. Instead of crying to the site owner. @Haggis @Jay
Haggis didn't come crying to me. I think the number of times he's raised this issue to me can be counted on one hand tbf. However it's everyone else which is sick of it. I think ignoring each other (even if I have to force it) is the best thing for all concerned. If I see anything of that nature - names in thread titles/goading, I'll jump in on it (however my involvement is minimal nowadays so don't expect me to be checking anything beyond the last 20 new posts in 'What's new'). But none of you enjoy interacting with each other, barely anyone else on the forum cares about it, so if none of you see his posts and vice versa - even if he or one of you guys do make a post against him, who gives a fuck? I've not added him to your ignore list yet, but I'd strongly think about doing it yourself anyway - the feature works wonderfully well.

Great pics and a scary addition by @Super_Fly_Sam

The devastation of was can't be denied, and that's just the buildings and surrounding areas. How many millions of people were displaced, killed, maimed when all this was going on?

That will take decades to recover from, if ever.

Nguyễn Văn Lém being escorted to his summary execution by handgun, the subject of the famous photograph.

Amelia Earhart tells her husband goodbye moments before leaving on her doomed flight.

Approaching Omaha Beach on D-Day:

The end of Saddam:

This photo, taken aboard a Japanese aircraft carrier just before the country's attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, and later recovered by U.S. forces, reveals what appears to be Japanese servicemen waving farewell to one of the planes about to carry out that historic offensive responsible for bringing the U.S into World War II

The Hindenberg flies over New York City a few hours before its spectacular explosion in New Jersey.

This one has been posted before, I think it's a better resolution here. Mark Chapman gets John Lennon to sign a copy of his album as Lennon is on his way out of his hotel for the evening. When Lennon returned a few hours later, Chapman killed him.

Just a few times. Uh huh. You want a solution? I'll give you one. You ban that spastic @Haggis from my thread. You can throw @Johnstown in that mix as well. They offer nothing constructive to that thread. Nothing but a long series of insults. You do that and I'll leave him and the Fat Ass alone.

Setting off to go nuke Hiroshima:

Robert Kennedy with approximately five minutes left to live:

The Boston Marathon bombers stand by the finish line moments before detonating their bombs:

MLK Jr delivering his "I may not get there with you" speech. The next day, he was assassinated.

Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife leave the guildhall to begin the journey during which he would be assassinated, kicking off the chain of events that led directly to WW1.

Washington's Mount St. Helens on May 17, 1980, the day before its devastating volcanic eruption, the largest in U.S. history, and one that killed approximately 57 people, caused more than a billion dollars worth of damage and sent ash 15 miles into the air, ultimately depositing it across 11 states and turning the Pacific Northwest sky to black.

7/7 suicide bomber Hasid Hussain exits a store in Kings Cross Station immediately before boarding the bus that he would blow himself up on, killing 13 people.

Crewmen unload "The Gadget" -- the nickname for the first atomic bomb -- and prepare it for final assembly soon before its historic test detonation on July 16, 1945 in the Jornada del Muerto desert of New Mexico.

In what may be his final photo, U.S. President William McKinley ascends the steps of the Temple of Music in Buffalo, New York on September 6, 1901. Inside the temple mere minutes later, anarchist Leon Czolgosz would assassinate McKinley with two gunshots to the abdomen. He was the last US President assassinated until Kennedy.

Lesser known photo of Jack Ruby killing Lee Harvey Oswald: edit: just found out the detective in the tan suit next to Oswald just died last week! He was 99 years old.

On January 28, 1986, the NASA Space Shuttle Challenger exploded on live television just 73 seconds after takeoff from Cape Canaveral, Florida, killing all seven crew members and grounding the U.S. shuttle fleet for nearly three years amid damning investigations.

Captured less than one second after ignition and too late for anyone to notice, this image reveals the fatal gray smoke escaping from the shuttle's right solid rocket booster. Authorities would later realize that the unusually cold outdoor temperatures had caused this booster's O-ring to fail, allowing burning gas to escape, causing smoke and fire, and ultimately destroying the shuttle.

Alright, that's it for now. I'm out. :cheers

A serious response. One can go back and look at my posts in your Trump thread and see that the vast majority are on point engagements on Trump or Trump policies.
Generally speaking I only engage you in a mocking tone when you say something personally offensive to me or someone else.

In fairness...I am pretty good at dishing it out...but that is only because you are retarded and hence a easy mark.

Now that is the last off topic post I will make in this thread because I respect this forum contribution.

Generally speaking you're not good at anything. Except angst and being an unimaginative bore. Especially chess.

Some excellent pictures and excellent posts there.

Absolutely scary what a state that part of the world is in...

Cheers lads.

I think the craziest are the first few pics of the lad in Libya.
Having him actually standing in the same places and redoing the same picture after the war gives it a more surreal feeling i think.

The others in a way almost dont feel like they are real or of the same place.

It's almost a "GIve man his utopia and he'll destroy it with a grin" moment on every picture. Absolutely frightening.

Thanks for the pics, top notch stuff.

Fuck this.

I'm the one curating the thread, adding probably thousands of pictures to it, and engaging in discussion.

These two idiot cunts are....... trying to ruin it for everybody. Because they're dimwit cunts. No other reason.

If I ignore them - they're coming in babbling shit anyway.

How about threadbanning them? That would solve the problem for this thread. Dale and Vino are 0.00% likely to link any images or anything in this thread for anybody to enjoy, and they're not going to engage in conversation or do anything except exactly this shit. Who wants that in here? Exactly nobody. Why the fuck is it on ME? I'm not the stupid cunt who is too dumb to do anything except try to ruin shit for everybody. All I did was provide a decent update, and then talk entirely amiably with @Mat Cauthon ...... who is a guy who has often gotten into exactly the same kind of pathetic kindergarten shit with me in the past, for the record.

I'm a guy who will squash a beef and become friendly any time. Many posters will attest to this. These stupid cunts are forum cancers, simple as that. They have no purpose or place in this thread, and should be threadbanned so they can't stink it up for everybody. End of.

:hat

Ohhhh for fucks sake :rofl

You truely are an old moll

What's weird (but good) about this thread is that I often look up more information on photos on here, even when I have seen them before and for some reason not bothered to. This is a prime example. Just found out that the guy who shot him in the famous image eventually fled to the US and lived there until his death. The US tried to deport him after it was deemed that he had committed a war crime, but Jimmy Carter stopped it, saying it was revisionism and the guy stayed in Virginia until his death in 1998.

Another interesting thing is that we look at such an image and immediately feel sympathy for the man being killed, and view the shooter as brutal, but it was a bloody, brutal war and apparently the man being killed had just been caught having himself killed South Vietnamese officer...only the difference being he then slit the throat of the officer's wife, 6 children and 80 year old mother.

Makes you see him a bit differently.
