Interesting beta test with this lad putting the wifey in danger. Wearing all black many of the dark situations are a driver's nightmare, ppl. walking on the road unseen, jumping out of shade etc.

All in all FSD did good and looks like it was always going to avoid a hit and SW catches pedestrian direction of movement fast. But it could've also broke and steered faster, so definitely room for improvement.

Also, Rivian configurator is out... dat front... fugly! But looks great on the inside, nice specs too

Weather permitting, SpaceX will have TWO Falcon 9 rocket launches this Saturday, the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich mission from Vanderberg AFS, West coast and F9 B1049.7"s record 7th flight to carry the next batch of Starlink satellites from Kennedy, East coast.

Tesla is also now part and main force for ZETA, the Zero Emission Transportation Association that aims for 100% zero emission vehicles sales in the USA come 2030. China and Europe both push for similarly tight schedules, and US can do some change as Texas and other states are just planning to tax EVs more than before, which is incredibly dump as Earth goes down in flames.

Another good test in increasing challenging conditions, first some fog then rain then heavy fog, not ideal for human driving. It's here where FSD shines: other than camera that humans also use it has radar and sonar to see through it and handles tight turns well.

Now there were some sharp breaking when it recognized a cyclist lane marking as a biker or some sort of object, but better safe than sound. It also did not recognize the speed bump in the very end and sometimes crossed the yellow line. Of course it was never reckless but these are situations FAR easier for FSD than for humans due to advanced tech. Trouble comes is lot worse quality roads, bad lane markings, ppl. all over the streets, cars parking wrong, construction and rush hour. But you gotta train it everywhere.

Rocket Lab successfully launched and put its latest cargo into orbit, then soft-landed the first stage onto sea via parachute in a test. They are looking to catch it mid-air in future and make it easily reusable.

Tesla stock reached record high this week though closed under $500 but a rough few months are ahead per Covid. Forget Elon who aided hospitals and workers with ventilators, masks & equipment, plus CureVac with RNA microfactories, issue is not really Musk's silly stance on Covid but Trump's, who has the power to do something about it yet is completely self-absorbed in an election he widely lost and Covid numbers are now far worse than ever before. This shit hit us in Hungary far more seriously than round 1, and looking at these numbers the US will look very, very bad in 3-4 weeks and Biden can't really enforce any serious response just yet.

At least some states like California's once again issuing stay at home order with counties having the final say on lockdown strictness, and this time around Tesla was deemed essential business so Fremont and Kato Road can operate normally. But with Elon, Trump and millions easily getting Covid, a tight factory environment is not ideal to avoid it, so small outbreaks inside are probable. Vaccines can't come soon enough, but that's post-round 2, and round 2's gonna be rough... :sad

Today's Starlink launch was postponed to Sunday, but the Sentinel-6 Michael Frielich ocean observation mission is still on in about 4 hours.

These to bits show why SpaceX is ahead of the game: u have a 20 story skyscraper falling toward a tiny dot over the speed of sound, and it just parks itself

Also check out this composite of the launch & landing 8 minutes apart & how dirty and banged up Falcon 9 is due to forces, mostly reentry and soot.

Cybertruck unveil turns 1, so does this great thread!

That event was batshit crazy with that WTF brutalist truck, and broken glass that made into the Tesla merch store, and Cyber Quad, it became a pop-cultural event. One year later, they are building the Gigafactory for it.

Tesla market cap flies past $0,5 trillion

Dang, that's some serious shit! With S&P inclusion and more bullish investors, Tesla stock price is now at $537 and market cap passed $510 000 000 000. Serious jump since last week and since March.

Elon Musk overtakes Bill Gates to be world's second-richest person
Further rise in Tesla share price pushes entrepreneur past Microsoft co-founder

Elon Musk has toppled Bill Gates as the world’s second-richest person, only a week after the Tesla co-founder overtook Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to become the third-richest.

Driven by a further surge in Tesla’s share price, the 49-year-old entrepreneur’s net worth rose by $7.2bn (£5.4bn) to $127.9bn. It has soared by more than $100bn this year – outranking everyone else on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which lists the world’s 500 richest people. In January, Musk was in 35th place.

The maverick chief executive of the electric car company is now ranked immediately behind the Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos.

Comes with the territory. Elon's clearly not into the island buying business or collecting yachts but rather a workaholic producing green cars, Elon Jrs, robots, memes, AI, tunnels and multi-planetary ships, surrounded by hot women and a cult. An odd duck among billionaires, not sure there's another nerd in history with this much influence, and he rather sells belongings to buy more stock and control than sell them and live large...

Anyways, Musk just said Giga Berlin will have the largest battery factory on Earth and will do small size EVs for the locket market.

On SN8 side, static fire should happen today, or at least some sort of wet test

And don't forget there's record 7th attempt to launch and land a booster 2nite, tho this particular Starlink missions has hadd some setbacks and weather could have a say once more
