One thing I've noticed in the recent months is the uptake in Teslas where I live. It used to be a rare occurrence to see one on the roads, now you'll see several of them per day. This a good thing because it's breaking through the barrier of the novelty car for rich people into the viable alternative to a mid range Ford or Volkswagen.

Where do you live mate? US, UK? Sir Rich wanna know. In the US the Biden tax credit will soon slash 10k off Tesla prices providing they are originally sold under 80k and that'll dramatically increase demand. And EVs come quite affordable when you calculate in lifetime upkeep incl. charging per mile is much cheaper than gas, plus far less maintenance. If you can still get a Model 3 standard range under the counter, you could take home a Tesla under 30k with tax credit, and right now relatively new used Teslas are selling at brand new price so they keep their value incredibly well. It's really a great investment.

I'm in Glasgow, Scotland so they hadn't penetrated the market as much here as they have in the US... the infrastructure is still fairly lacking in regards to number of available charge points, etc but my hope is that with big uptick in people choosing Teslas and other EVs as viable alternatives to ICE cars then the gov have to ramp up the infrastructure to suit.

I was going to mention that. South of the border it's the same deal with the paucity of charging points. The bigger cities are better in that sense, obviously, but the Gvt has to blink first and invest in the infra before more people will buy into it. Maybe they should look at lamppost spurs.
