I agree. With Enzo.
But Toney Bellew has been appointed as chairman of a committeee by WBC to look at this option. And he has given the go ahead.

Kind of funny how strong this was in ESB when Klitschko was reigning. People were dying for it. Now that Klitschko has been dethroned, it seems like it's going back to not being necessary.

I think Povetkin/Whyte and Joshua/Ruiz Jr. show it in a nutshell that this isn't necessary. Weirdly enough, I'm pretty sure Wilder can make the 200-225 lb. limit if he wanted. Seems pointless all around.

I think the jump between light heavy and Cruiserweight is too big.

I don't know how you fix that without creating another weight class or moving them all about though, neither of which is ideal.

It used to be 190lb before they increased it 15 years or so ago. To 200lb.

More weight divisions adds to more confusion. Not to mention the fact UFC has totally different weight divisions with same names. Casuals end up confused. A Featherweight in UFC is equivalent to a Welterweight in Boxing.

And then amateur boxing is different again.

I actually think 200lbs is fine. It's a good weight and the division has the best fighting the best. You're cleaning out the division by going to the old ways as most are 15 stone in the ring. I do a bit of coaching. I'm 6'5'' and 91kg every Friday. I'm usually 93.5 on a Monday. I'm a tall guy, but certainly not a natural heavy. I couldn't go down to 175lbs. 190 would be doable, but it would be an extreme cut for me. I'm coaching a kid at 175 atm. He's having to simmer down too much to make weight on the day. It's important to remember that you weigh in on fight day in the ams. I genuinely don't know how Shakam gets down to 175. Callum Smith too. How he makes 168 is a mystery to me.

175 is working well, but think we could maybe give way to another 5 lbs. 180 wouldn't hurt anyone. I actually reckon most pros are nearer to 185 on fight night anyway.

Now that Sir Anthony Bellew of Liverpool has given his seal of approval. As the chair of the WBC committee. I expect this proposal to come into fruition in the near future. The other alphabet bodies will then follow suit.

Finally I thought we had heard the last of Bellew once he had retired. Unfortunately no such luck.

Wonder if sanctioning fees are letting him go home safe to the wife and kids.

As if Tony Bellew could have made 190 lbs for the Usyk fight lmao.

Super Middle 170 - LHW 183 or 5 - Cruiser 200 if we are moving them. Going down to 190 for Cruiser kills the division imo. The guys are 15 stone on fight night.

It's a load of bollocks to me. Leave it the way it is. There's a lot of these smaller heavyweights going around that could fight at cruiser if they really wanted to.
