Another belt that may be on the line is the WBA World Title apparently! Word is their board are going to be voting on whether or not to strip Ugas and reinstate Pacquiao ahead of his showdown with Spence Jr (you couldn't make this up)

Sorry in advance for the source article, I couldn't find the story anywhere else but The Sun online (US-Sun to be precise, I didn't even know they were over there) but I heard this rumour on a podcast a few days ago and wanted to share it with you guys

The WBA have fucked up on this one.
Not sure if Ugas should have been given a belt as Pac was still champ. Though he was super inactive soo... but I also don't agree with Ugas getting stripped through no fault of his own just because the WBA want to get themselves in the mix of Spence VS Pacquiao.

I agree, totally unfair to Ugas but then again since he didn't actually win the belt it in the ring it could be argued easy come, easy go! The sanctioning fees too good to miss out on it seems. If they do strip him he must be made mandatory for the winner and it should be called immediately after the fight

Fair point. It was the WBA's decision to give him the belt so it's really unfair to Ugas.
He's in a hard spot. Should Pac win I would think he'd retire. If Spence wins he may try a bit more for Crawford or just move up.

Can't see either of them in a rush to go after Ugas.
Maybe Crawford should target Ugas in the mean time.

I'm absolutely amazed. Well done WBA, I attack them often so it's only right I give credit where it's due. Now, Berto?? Damn I thought he retired ages ago, has he fought since he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr? Good news for Ugas though, he should win that comfortably and then he'd have made a successful first defence so will be legitimately the champion after having received it in his mailbox initially

Just watched the press conference, all very pally pally as expected, Pacman claiming that ESJ is better than FMJ  does that mean he expects to lose again then? He also named a few of the best fighters he's faced such as Cotto, DLH and Thurman and noticeably left out FMJ, sure it's possible that wasn't intentional given the amount of fighter's he's faced but I'm not convinced, he seems to be a bit bitter for some reason, he lost that fight fair and square.

Also, 13 years since Pacman fought a southpaw? Blimey, that could be a problem. This surely has to be Pacman's last hurrah. Thurman said ESJ is the underdog which surprised me, that's not the case in the UK, ESJ is a 1/3 favourite as of today, I wonder if Thurman was talking about the US betting odds or if that's just his own opinion

It's one thing being a juiced to the gills Canelo fighting "big for nothing" callum Smith or pickled liver Kovalev.

But Spence is powerful and strong, as well as youth, size will tell in a big way here, Spence will just be too strong and outgun Pac.

Certainly not the case down under either.

Sports Bet have Spence $1.34 and Pacman $3.07.

I don't know how that converts to 1/3 or 3/1 or whatever but it show's Spence is the comfortable favourite in this one

Same here, when I see the US odds of something like -350 I don't even bother to try to understand what that means lol although your odds (that I'm seeing for the first time ever here) looks pretty self explanatory, if I put 100AUD on Spence Jr I'll get a total (inc. outlay) of 234AUD back right?

Oh me too. I’ve no idea how the US system works.

Close on Spence. The prices are the returns on a single dollar bet. For $100 you’d get back $134. Your original $100 bet plus the win of $34 extra in winning. Basically 100 X $1.34 = $134..

Same hundred on Pac would get you $307

Ah I see, yeah that should be obvious actually if Spence Jr is the favourite and you did say he was, otherwise that R/R is too favourable for the punter. So that's basically the same as we have him here at 1/3, you'll get £33.33 plus your stake back with a £100 bet.
